I second the above post. The Clarity Project is the big change, and from what I understand from my review course (Roger), it gets most of the testing since it is new. They are new standards and different language and wording from GAAS. You will want to get new materials that cover the Clarity Project. For a cheap option, I would look at Jeff's NINJA notes and videos. You won't be saving any money if you fail the exam and have to retake it, so you may as well put some money into it to at least get the current information.

I found a website (posted earlier in this thread) that outlines the clarity updates nearly verbatim to the Ninja Notes. It is such a small portion of all the study material that I would not recommend buying anything just for clarity updates. However, I would definitely recommend buying the Ninja Notes to supplement your studying for all the topics. They are an excellent source to help outline and organize your notes.

@KillCPA– I'm taking AUD on 11/27- I've been using CPAExcel (updated for Clarified Standards) and a 2012 Becker textbook. I wouldn't recommend using only your 2012 Becker textbook– there aren't too many changes, but I think they are significant enough that you need to know them for the exam. Someone on a different thread mentioned getting a copy of the AU-C and reviewing that to learn the changes.

    F- 7/13- 84
    R- 10/13- 79
    A- 11/13- 99
    B- 1/14- 86

    Licensed in PA- 3/20/2014

This exam ALMOST defeated me back in 2006-2008, but I came back and WON!

I can't get with Auditing with IT, everything there always looks foreign unless I've had the questions before. Anybody know any tips to tackling this section? I know it doesn't encompass much on the exam but i want to be as prepared as possible.

@Mel–I don't know any tricks, but I think if you focus on how they test IT internal control, which encompasses data tests & segregation of duties, you will have covered the important parts. What exactly is tripping you up? I may be able to assist better if I have a better understanding of what you aren't getting. Auditing with IT is the only thing I have consistently gotten correct since I started studying. I don't know if you work or not, but what helps me is to relate the information to the reports and IT personnel that I deal with regularly. Then it seems to click for me.

@snoboarder–Yes, you can find ratios and other formulas in the accounting guidance.

@CPAMommyof3 Thanks for the response. Say I wanted to find the Accounts Receivable Turnover Ratio in the Authoritative Literature. Any idea what I would type in the find the formula for that ratio? I am having trouble finding the formulas in the AL.

The one that I found I literally just typed in the name of the ratio. I wonder if it only contains certain ratios. I know the AL on the test is much better than the study materials so hopefully it won't be as restrictive as whatever you are using for your studying.
