Hello all. I am new to this group, and will be taking AUD on 11/30. I screwed up by thinking that thanksgiving was a week before it actually is, but oh well. I am looking forward to crackin the books tonight. I will be using the Becker 2013 materials. I took BEC on 10/14 and am hoping for my first pass. When I get time I will read back through this thread to try not to double up any questions. Good luck to all.

    Hey art vandalay,

I am November 24th! Its funny that you choose that name. That is my real name. I use to be an importer and exporter but I am working on becoming a CPA now.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Listening to the audio version of the NINJA notes is somehow comforting. Reading the notes as Jeff speaks has more impact for me than simply reading them.

I'm really worried about this exam. I've been scoring around 50% the first time through. With the other exams, I would score around 70% the first time through. I'll be finishing up chapter 6 today and tomorrow and will be starting my 3 week review where I re-goover all of the becker material and questions and then do at a minumum of 75% of the Wiley questions. I hope the second time through the becker material will show a lot high scores.

Becker, Wiley Test Bank, and Ninja 10 Point Combo!

    FAR: 89
    REG: 87
    AUD: 92
    BEC: 75
    Ethics: 90

Well I quit my non accounting job and took out a loan to study full time for the CPA exam. Looks like I will have one month of uninterrupted time to study for audit. Is it sad that I am excited!? 6 months to complete the whole thing….hopefully.

please guys , does anyone knows what is the difference between the SOX and US SEC PCAOB , as in the module no.6 in Becker they are listed and discussing the independence and other points , but the main point that I wonder is that -as I understand- all talk about a listed (public) company , so what is the difference ???

@masry, there is almost no difference if it is all issuer company , and i found thee diagram that briefs them all so helpful, you will notice that mostly same rules apply to SOX/PACOB/SEC and AICPA code non-issuer and it gives you better overview of the difference with the IFAC , also when you go through the MCQ e.g. when it is related to partner rotation period , it is applicable to issuer but not applicable to non-issuer, also for SOX/PACOB/SEC all related to issuers.
