3Down1ToGo: Are you using Becker? In A2, Compilation & Review of Financial Statements, it states:

“A CPA may express limited (negative) assurance on financial statements that have not been audited. The objective of a review engagement is to express limited assurance that there are no material modifications that should be made to the financial statements in order for the statements to be in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework. A review is based on inquiry and analytical procedures performed by the CPA. A review is both an assurance engagement and an attest engagement.”

@titine yes I am. I understand what a review I just wasn't sure if “limited” and “negative” were the same thing. Thanks!

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

I really need to hear from you guys that are taking all four exams in 6 months or less. What are your study methods specifically? Do you work? Do you have families? Regardless of your circumstances, I am A-MAZED and truly in awe of you! That takes a lot of motivation and dedication. Keep up the great work guys!

I took FAR July 5 and plan on taking my last (REG) November 23rd. I work full time, usually 7-6 (M-F). Have a small family in a wife and a Yorkie. My routine is using becker materials, I watch the videos, go back and type up my own notes, (similar to ninja notes just more detail). I go back over those summary notes over and over until I can literally think of where on the page something is. Then I start the multiple choice and try to get through most of them. I usually don't make it all the way through. I would say I average 2.5 to 3 hours a day. Half of it is at work before 8 and whenever I get a chance. I really don't study as much as I should on the weekends. Hardly ever on Saturdays but generally a couple hours on Sundays.

    BEC - 89
    AUD - 93
    REG - 87

    1) I hear a lot about people relying on the AL for AUD Sims. Can anyone shed light on that? What do you really find there? Everything?

    2) I plan to take an entire day and go through all the Becker and AICPA Sims. I'm not working them from scratch, just looking at the answers to see if they make sense and if I'd be able to do them on my own. Do you guys think a day is enough time? Studying the sims for FAR did absolutely nothing for me on exam day.

I've made it through all the material twice and things are just now starting to really click. This is exactly how it has been for the other two exams, I feel like I'm walking through fog reaching out for something to hold on to, and then about a week before the exam it all clears up. At his point I'm reading through my personal “ninja notes” over and over, trying to tackle a bunch of multiple choice questions each day. Next week I'll pretty much do progress tests non stop.

@3D2tG- I don't place much emphasis on Sims during my studies. I did a little during FAR and like you said it, it did not help one bit. I think if you have a good understanding of the multiple choice and conceptual issues, you can pretty much work your way through whatever they throw at you. I think just being familiar with the set up is all you can really do. I typically fly through the MC questions (I feel I either know it or don't) and allow myself plenty of time to analyze the sims. Good Luck!
