Member@Giacarlo – It's difficult to say which one is the best for AUD. Many pass using Becker, and some don't. Many pass using Yaeger, but I failed my first try. I wouldn't say it was Yaeger's fault – I just didn't understand well enough. If Becker wasn't right for you for AUD, check out sample videos for Roger or Yaeger. Maybe consider supplementing with ninja materials.
@Geee – here's a link that explains allowance for doubtful accounts: https://ccba.jsu.edu/accounting/BADDEBTS.HTML
It's an estimate of accounts that won't be collected.

MemberHey everybody, I need a little bit of advice. I passed the other 3 sections using Becker only when I was studying full-time. I begin work in a couple of weeks so I'm only allowing myself about a month to study for AUD. One of the most time-consuming parts of my study regime is writing out notes for each chapter so I'm thinking about buying NINJA notes. I'm just worried that'll I'll end up spending more time trying to match them up to the Becker chapters (yes, I'm very anal about my notes lol).
Do you guys use NINJA notes for AUD? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance!
- passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!
Ethics: TBD

Participant@3Down1ToGo Its not hard to match up the NINJA notes to the Becker chapters, I've done the match-up for two exams so far and its pretty simple. I think the NINJA notes are helpful and useful to help tie everything back together. I keep reading the notes over and over during my commute and as i go through the lectures and MCQs it helps topics to click. I keep trying to rewrite the NINJA notes but have never fully gotten through them. Trying to rewrite them at least once this time through Audit.

MemberHi All,
So, I found out I failed audit with a 68. It saids i'm weaker in multiple choice and I scored comparable on my sims (funny thing is, bf I received my scores I thought I did better on the mc questions then sims). Anyhow,I need some advice on how I should study. I'm using Becker. My game plan is to :
1.Go through questions
2. Then review the one's I got wrong
3. Write fact nuggets
4. Then reread all my fact nuggets and Ninja notes
5. Then attack more mc questions/sims
6.Repeat step 1-5.
7. However, if there's a section that I'm struggling with, I plan on going back to my becker book and rereading the chapter and writing notes. For instance, I ‘m having a lot of trouble understanding Chapter 4 of Becker book. This covers the trans cycle. For me, it's so hard to remember and understand this part. I seem to just not get it. Can anyone give me some advice on how best to really understand the trans cycle? i'm debating about getting a tutor too to help along the difficult sections. If anyone knows of a good tutor for audit that is located in NYC, let me know.
Note, I'm using both the wiley test bank and the wiley book for extra questions. When I do sets of 30 questions, I seem to be scoring btwn 50-60%. So, any advice would be great!

Member@3down1togo – I second what MeIl4CPA is saying about ninja notes. They hit some main points so reviewing them helps drive it in. I've never written notes but I do type my own notes. I review ninja notes when I have downtime or in the evening before bed.
@letmepassalready – study like you need 75 points, not just 7 points. Your plans seems pretty good, but make sure you aren't just memorizing mcq's. Understand both the correct and incorrect answers. Is there something in particular about the transaction cycles that is difficult for you?
Something that helped me was to realize that the sales cycle goes like this:
sales order, credit auth, inventory control, shipping, invoicing, A/R, general acctg, and treasurer.
Remember that shipping documents come before sales invoices.

Member10key-Thanks for the response.
When I'm reading through the becker book, and it tells me that in order to achieve completeness i would need to obtain a vendor statements and agree to the vendor accounts, I get confused. I'm wondering if I was an actual auditor then which department would have vendor statements, do I goto accounts payable? treasurer? purchasing dept? I think I don't understand the flow or have a clear understanding as to which department does what? Is this something I should just memorize? Should I just go through each of the Becker diagrams and review so that I can remember how the process flows?

Member@letmepass – I'm not sure how becker is set up, but in Yaeger they have charts showing the flow of documents and processed through purchasing, vouchers receivable, accounts payable, and the treasurer.
I'm in the same position as you in that I don't have actual experience. It makes it hard to understand the whole process. The flow through charts helped me get a better picture so maybe take a look at the charts in becker.
