What topics in FAR should we prepare for. Adjusting entries or something else? Also should I worry about bond amortizations?

Ummm honestly I would say anything is fair game. If you get a FAR question that wasn't covered by your course then it might be a pretest question. The only thing I could say is that Becker really only covers ratios and how to analyze them and adjusting entries. I will say that I'm glad I studied that from Becker.

@bhuekels I definitely 100% agree. My FAR and REG exams were pretty heavily calculated so I kinda like that because if you know what formula or what topic is being asked then you're pretty much going to get the answer. Especially when the options given can actually give the answer away.

For AUD, you definitely need to know your stuff. For the analyzing questions on my exam, there were some questions that had two good answers. It can definitely be tricky if you don't slow down and look at all the details in the question.

It looks like the SIMS on Wiley's software are actually decent practice for the exam. I knew for FAR that they were pointless to study in a way, but I'm somewhat encouraged by what they look like in AUD based of what I saw in the AICPA practice exam and what I'm projecting them to look like.

Can anyone confirm who's taken the test that Wiley's SIMS were good practice?

Hey guys I'm scheduled to take audit sept 5th. I am currently on Aud 3 but feel like I am all over the place with studying. I've been doing the lectures and highlighting for an entire unit then going back to do the MC/Simulation.

Any advice on what strategies to use, I feel like for some sections the lectures don't event help with the MC?

you can try the appeal process but from what I understand, it's pretty straight forward for this exam. It's 100% computerized answers (no essay), so I think you would be wasting your money. Get right back to studying while it's still fresh

I got a 74 and I am retaking September 10th. Jump back in there and review it. It is one of the smaller sections, you will save $$ and time.

Hi everyone, I'm taking Audit on August 31st and the last two tries ended with a 71 and then a 74 (back in Jan 2017)..I'm using CPA Excel. Some of you mentioned using Ninja MCQ in addition.. does that still hold mostly true?
    Thanks!

Also for those of you using Wiley.. assignment 41 has the clarified standards for the AICPA (PR-PR).
What chapter are the PCAOB standards in exactly? From what I hear the old TID PIE GCDO are retired..
    Thanks

I think you are looking for Section 85. PCAOB Risk Assessment Standards

    Hi Everyone,

Taking AUD on 10/3/2017. Looking for the best advice on ways to study? Is AUD a process that needs to be understood from beginning to end? (I mean in the sense that FAR could be studied randomly, since alot of the topics stand on their own) Should I approach the study material in sequential order?

I did this with FAR and I was weaker on material I studied in the beginning vs material at the end. I felt as though I was forgetting topics I had understood during the early part of my studying.

With AUD, is it important to know the process from beg to end? Also, I can't see the test being as calculation heavy as FAR, so I assume that it would be mostly theory/concept based?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated! Really want to know the best studying style, especially from those of you that have passed!

AUD is way more subjective than any of the other sections. In some cases, there are answers that are all correct, but they want the one that is MOST correct.

There is a process to understand from start to finish, but by the time you see all of the different types of engagements, the process will make more sense. There are very few calculations, but a lot of memory and application of knowledge to scenarios.

The exam has changed since I last took it (and passed), so someone else may be better on the suggested study method. I've generally just followed the outline of the courses.

Here I am taking Auditing for the 5th time.

I took it fresh out of college 5 years ago. Bombed it and then stopped my CPA journey.

About 2/3 years ago, I got serious about my CPA test then life hit me marriage, baby, working, etc.

The past year, I have really started takign this serious when I passed REG with an 80.

Since then, I have taking Audting 3 times (December 71 , March 71 , May/June 68, and going to be re-taking before window close this quarter.

I need this pass bad!!! I am waiting on FAR and BEC for September score release.

Just want to be a CPA already!

Any words of advice. I am focusing hard on MCQS and re-writing the rigth answer over and over again in my weak areas.

Haven't received my score card yet so don't know if my weak areas stayed the same or not.

    Thanks!

    AUD X/71/71/68/Re-take 8/27
    BEC 65/waiting on resuts
    FAR Waiting on results
    REG 74/80
