ZaqParticipantSo does anyone have a good list or table that helps you to memorize when the Explanatory Paragraph goes either BEFORE or AFTER the Opinion Paragraph?
From my understanding, most of the times the Explanatory Paragraph goes BEFORE the OP. So it would be easier to memorize when the Explanatory Paragraph goes after the OP for an easier process of elimination method.
FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
AUD: 65, 91!?
BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

AnonymousInactiveI'm a newbie to the exam process….Nothing under my belt as a solid win yet..!
Anyone taking AUD before FAR???….I am taking BEC 7/2 and my NTS runs out 8/13 so plan to take AUD by then….Don't think I have enough time to study FAR in 5-6 weeks. How are you preparing differently than if you had already taken FAR?
I am planning on studying journal entries from FAR during my AUD studies as I assume SIMs will hit me with some journal entries. There are other 80 journal entries in Wiley Focus Notes to review.
FAR and I will do battle but need to get a couple notches on my belt before going against the titan of exams…Was going to take FAR between BEC and AUD in same test period but don't think that is a wise option…So backing off of that ambitious idea…!

AnonymousInactiveInsiyah24 I know the feeling. This happened to FAR. Everything was so strong except Simms. I have a question, I am interested in getting 2013 Bliz (spelling?) to complement Becker. I was really interested in the test bank and flash cards. Did they work for you? Those the test bank have Simms?
Stay on it… We are here trying to battle the 4 horsemen… We will defeat them… Failure is not an option

MaaneetMemberThis might be a stupid question but I couldn't find the answer anywhere so here it is: Who has more authority over an audit according to SOX? Board of Directors or Audit committee?
FAR - 81 (2/13), Expired. 🙁 Retake 79 (11/14)
AUD - 63 (10/13), 71 (2/14), 69 (7/14), 81 (10/14) Finally!!!
BEC - 77 (2/14)
REG - 78 (5/14)June 11, 2013 at 6:48 pm #437627
ZaqParticipantI believe the Audit Committee has the direct responsibility of appointing the independent auditor and preparing the engagement. At least, that's what I remember reading from Becker.
The Board of Directors govern the AC so I would say…. hm…. tricky question.

AnonymousInactiveAudit Committee (AC) Members, because according to SOX they are all required to be independent (not insiders, meaning not officers of the business). AC can appoint the external auditors and good practice practice dictates that the Internal Audit department should report to AC and address any audit issues concerns etc with AC.
Remember some of BOD members make up the AC, compensations committee etc.. But AC members have to be independent for issuers as per SOX/PCAOB.

KenadaMember@acasa25 –
So before May 28th i did every single question in Wiley. So when i selected the option from the drop down menu – Never seen before it would come back as Zero.
When I found i failed – what i did was look up in the options – never seen before and i saw 62 questions. So I guess that was the update done by Wiley.
Also this was the reply I got from my CPA review provider
“The Wiley Test Bank Software received automatic updates, so it does currently have the most up to date material which you will need for the Audit Clarity Project. Wiley updates their software with rolling updates, meaning you will not necessarily see the updates, they will be automatically implemented into the software.”
And below is from Wiley when I got to chat with them online.
[05:23:17 PM] Insiyah: I have the AUD Test Bank that i purchased in Jan 2013. Now the syllabus has changed so i wanted to ask – does the test bank update to new changes automatically?
[05:23:46 PM] Insiyah: I don't want to be using outdated information for my exam in July 2013
[05:24:05 PM] Shawna W.: The changes that effect the new AUD standards went live on June 4th. All of the AUD information now reflects the update.
I hope this helps everyone 🙂
@CesarCPA2012 = I have Wiley review book and test bank. I have Rogers CPA review and I do use the Ninja MP3 audio to listen to when i am driving back and forth from work.. or if my eye are just to tired to read i listen to Jeff talk away about AUD lol…
That really has helped me improve on the MC's. The SIM part i think i get over anxious or my brain gets to tired. Think i need to train my self to just focus and be on top of it.
I haven't tried Bliz before and haven't heard of it. I did use becker before. I like the use of the MC's and SIM but the lectures bored me to death. So i prefer rogers just because his weirdness helps me remember things 🙂

MaaneetMemberthank you for the answers… I was thinking correct answer is AC but was confused since BOD govern AC.

AnonymousInactive@insiyah24, I jsu did couple of sims on wiley and the standards are old not new. Look at the reporting 508 and it does not address unmodified. So either my testbank did not update or wiley only updated mcq only. Is someone having the same problem?
@Maaneet I understand I have same problem on whose who in terms of the standards .i.e. SEC oversight for PCAOB and PCAOB adopted some of the SAS.
AICPA wrote some of the SAS, QA etc.
IFAC
I wish there was a flowchart. Anybody help
June 11, 2013 at 7:42 pm #437633
ZaqParticipantSomeone correct me if I'm wrong.
– Issuers: Follow PCAOB issued by AICPA.
– Non-issuers: Follow SAS issued by AICPA. SSARS for Compilation and Reviews.
– I'm not sure if SSAE applies to Issuers or Nonissuers or both.
– Reviews are normally performed under SSARS, but review on interim financial statements is PCAOB. This is an example of a typical SAS that flows through to PCAOB

KenadaMemberSo I went back to my Wiley test bank just to check the 62 new question and they are not for the clarity project.. I will go back to Wiley and ask them cause this is weird.. How are we suppose to prepare for the new changes if there aren't any questions in the test bank to help us prepare of it 🙁
