AmayMemberThe same could be done with any other “source document” or type of evidence. For example, you can test additions for existence also by tracing from additions listing to the physical location where assets are kept and identifying the asset. You can test it for completeness by identifying an asset purchased in the current year in the physical location and tracing it back to additions listing to make sure it is included on there.
BEC: 73, 81
AUD: 85
FAR: 71, 77
REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

I guess I was confused on what they meant by additions.

AmayMemberGlad I could help 🙂 Yes they meant additions as in the additions and disposals that make PPE increase or decrease, respectively, during the year.

AnonymousInactiveI am making Panera my study spot on the weekends, and I bought a tanker desk for my house for week night studying. My Panera is usually pretty good because it has two distinct sections. Naturally the students and workers migrate to the back and the families and daters congregate in the front section. Well, tonight these dingy moms have decided to bring their bad, bratty, pre-k kids to the study section. They are screeching, squealing, yelling and generally running a muck. I have given them the “glare” several times, but they are oblivious. Literally, my section is 5 tables of people studying, one table of teen boys eating and having quiet conversation, and these people with unruly kids. The lady working at a table catty cornered to me just looked at me and rolled her eyes!
I have adopted the NINJA method, as it makes sense to me because I learn so much better when I make my own study outlines. I am about half-way through the Becker videos for AUD. I am starting with AUD because it was the only accounting class I got a C in. I now realize my teacher basically followed the Becker model, but she fumbled her way through and she provided less than clear supplemental material. This time through it feels like it is clicking. I am answering the multiple choice questions at about 90% rate at the end of each subsection, but I am putting off the real MC until I finish making all my notes. I look forward to sharing my experiences and reading about yours as we grit our teeth and bare this. As nerdy as this is, I actually enjoy learning this crap. It just gets dull when some of the material is covered in multiple sections. I can tell my problem is going to be keeping up with the marathon pace. I see myself keeping up for about 6 months, and fading fast after that.

10keyLeahMemberI'll be joining everyone AUD study thread. I just took BEC and I'll be re-taking AUD on Oct. 5. I guess they will start an Oct – Nov thread at some point?
@codwater – very cool… I wish I had a shop nearby to go study! I wouldn't do well with wild yelling kids nearby though. I”ve enjoyed learning too, but it does get boring at times. I was sick of AUD by the time I took it the first time around. I was so sick of BEC when I took it yesterday, and now I'm looking forwarding to getting back into AUD. lol I'll be sick of it again in a couple of weeks.
