Definately don't fret about the practice test scores. I was getting in the 30s and 40s days before my reg exam with Wiley and I ended up with a 73 on the real thing. I just got back my 74 in the mail in aud and the only weak area was simulations:

    SO…

Does anyone know any good Audit simulation online (already have wiley) product?

Does anyone know if the Sims now cover the ‘clarity' standards?

Wiley SIM's are not yet updated with Clarity stds.

Gleim SIm are updated and i bought the SIM package from Gleim. I find it is helping me get a good variety of SIM's to practice. 🙂

Thank you for the advises. I am going to go through the materials one more time using the CRAM videos just to refresh my head and also revisit topics i hate… EG Sampling. I know it but i hate it.

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

I am using Becker to study with Wiley Test Bank. I was doing some simulations yesterday and in the research one there were two basically identical answers, one with the clarified standards and one without. The answer was the clarified standards answer. Basically, are we now expected to just assume anything from the clarified standards should be considered absolute and be used over the original information in this case?

    AUD 59,69,71,73 76
    BEC 79(LC), 80
    FAR 71,59,78 (expires 1/31/14)
    REG 77(LC), 88!!!

    DONE 12/6/13

For non Issuers it should be Clarity.. so I believe Jeff has mentioned that yes you need to look for the Clarity in research questions 🙂

@silliepanda I am in the same boat.. took REG on 7/8 since it was my first test ever I am not sure how I did. Going to start studying for AUD… I am using Becker but I think I will get extra help for the SIMS. Here we go again =)

I am having some trouble with a Becker question:

Which of the following is true regarding the audit report for an issuer?

    a.

Reference should be made in the auditor's responsibility paragraph to both PCAOB standards and generally accepted auditing standards.

    b.

PCAOB standards should not be mentioned at all, although their use is implied in the auditor's report.

    c.

Reference should be made in the auditor's responsibility paragraph to PCAOB standards, and in the opinion paragraph to generally accepted accounting principles.

    d.

Reference may be made in the auditor's responsibility paragraph to either PCAOB standards or generally accepted auditing standards.

They say the correct answer is C but I don't see any reference to the PCAOB standards in the auditor's report unless I am missing something.

Also, is the “scope” paragraph no longer in the auditor's report due to the clarity standards?

    Thanks

I read somewhere becker did not updated their material correctly. Something about removing all the old material and only showing the clarity standards. Later they fixed it in the lecture notes and quite a few people on this chat forum where annoyed. So i am not sure if this question is something that shouldn't be asked since PCAOB is still under the old format

PCAOB old format for audit reports

Introductory – Mentions Mgnt responsibility here.

Scope – Mention PCAOB Std's here

    Opinion – Mention GAAP here.

The Clarity updated is ONLY for Non-Issuers. Non Issuers is more heavily tested in AUD.
