    Welcome 10Key 🙂

I just saw this question on Gleim and it kind of has thrown me off. Never seen this before and wondering if any of you have ?

The AICPA committee on assurance services has identified a professional service called ElderCare (PrimePlus) services. One fundamental purpose of this assurance service is to assist the elderly and their families by

    A. Investing the funds of the elderly person.

    B. Choosing caregivers.

    C. Reporting whether specified objectives are being met by caregivers.

    D. Performing operational audits of healthcare providers.

Anyone know in research simulation for AUD, we should use AU or AU-C?

@insiyah24 – I've come across assurance services info in general but nothing as specific as an actual type of business.

Dark – as insiyah24 said, I also believe that AU-C will be used. Here is a link to an explanation by imaCPA168 (its the second post). https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/audit-research-questions

I don't think we will have to choose between AU or AU-C, it will probably be one or the other available, and from what I know, it should be AU-C.

    Please guys ,

I'm a little bit confused about some points in governmental auditing

Please I'd like to know whether auditors make audit over compliance and internal control only (and what about financial statements audit – not only compliance and internal control ) or the compliance = Financial statements audit in normal course auditing.

Any other explanations or recommendation to understand better this topic is highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

@Masry1989 – I'm not quite sure I understand your question. For governmental auditing, when auditing the financial statements you also have to audit for internal controls and also compliance with laws and regulations (and following AICPA audit requirements too).

Attestation standards for government require following AICPA attestation reporting standards plus any GAGAS rules, issues with IC, illegal acts, etc.

    Hi all,

I have a quick question…do we get partial credit on the research simulations for AUD?? meaning, if we get part of the answer correct and other parts wrong, do we get any credit for teh correct part??

I have my AUD exam tomorrow and for some of the research simulations I am having trouble getting the correct complete answer.

    Thanks

@maaroufrn – this partial credit question has been asked and researched by others here on the forums, but I don't think anyone really knows for sure how it is graded.

Check out this thread as an example: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/research-question-points

Keep in mind that the actual exam will have a ‘search' and ‘search within' function to better help narrow down.

Question for anyone who knows (Jeff??): I bought the pre-july 1st ninja notes for AUD but now am sitting with all the new info – we get a free upgrade for those notes? If so, how can I go about getting them?

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

I just took my first practice exam with Becker:

    Testlet #1 – 83%

    Testlet #2 – 83%

    Testlet #3 – 63% (ouch)

    Sims Average: 73%

I'm reviewing over the testlets now and the majority of the answers I got wrong were due to me choosing the wrong choice that I narrowed down between 2 answers. I'm glad because I could eliminate two wrong answers, but I'm mad because some of those answers were based of me switching my answer last second, lol. Becker questions are really ambigious sometimes.

One question asks you for one of the basic elements of the auditor's standard report, but the answer has to be an element that is explicitly stated. However, the question does not ask you differentiate between implicit or explicit elements! Really annoying!

But I feel okay about my scores. I think.

    Things to note:

    – Predecessor auditors need to get representation letters from successor auditors before reissuing an audit report.

    – Compilation reports require a Disclaimer? I know compilations have no assurance, but since the report is not an audit I did not think any opinion (including a disclaimer) was necessary

    – RTMFQ: Got like 3 questions wrong due to “least likely” questions. That's pretty infuriating.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

Good 10 key and everyone else taking your exams tomorrow. 🙂

For the research question – yes they will give you part marks but how much no one knows for sure.

For Jeff updated Notes etc. I just emailed Jeff and ask him. A link was sent on the new updates on AUD. So try asking him.

For exam simulation I got 68 % first time and when i did it again it was 72%. I have the same experience where I second guessed myself and picked the wrong one from the best two.

Trying to finish whatever MC questions and SIM's I have remaining. Will then re-do all the ones I got wrong.

Seriously hope my fourth attempt is a pass so tired of this subject. LOL.
