For me Rogers updated mine with no cost since I am still under the 12 month purchase with him. I got updated notes and updated video lectures.

There are some on You Tube that gives you like some idea what he is like. Worth watching 🙂 It does not have the updated clarity parts but it can help you in other areas you are weak in.. Plus the best part he super energy just makes you smile or laugh.

DeniseFutureCPA, Margo and insiyah24 thanks for the advise. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any free updates for my Becker 2012 version. But I will try the test bank and ninja notes and wiley textbook and becker 2012 (I hope I don't get confused). I will try to use becker only for the unchanged parts. And thanks for the encouragement. I hope I can clear audit. It will be my fourth attempt!!! DeniseFutureCPA please let me know if you notice dramatic changes in becker 2012 vs the Becker 2013 version. So far I have noticed that chapters 1, 2 (except for compilations and reviews and attest engagements), 3 were the most affected by the changes. If I am wrong please someone correct me. I only noticed minor changes in chapters 4, 5, and 6.

Hello Ninja's

I have another area I hope to get some confirmation if you have noticed a change.

Before Division of Responsibilities – we had two options

1. We could either not mention the other auditors in our Auditor report if we are satisfied with them/ they are reputable and we are able to review their work etc etc

2. We could refer to them as “other” auditors and that way it would show as division of responsibilities in our Audit report and we would state what type of opinion they have etc etc

Now this is called – Shared Responsibility instead of Division of Responsibilities

We must now determine who is the Group Engagement partner (Previously Principle Auditor) and who is the Component auditors ( Previously other auditors) and if we decide to use Option 2 the Group engagement auditor needs to indicate the magnitude of the portion of the FS that was audited by the component auditor.

The rest seems the same as before. Have I got this understanding right?

@ insiyah24: yes you are correct. Are you going through the updates now or started doing revision? The updates are some for engagement planning and reporting right? So, balance are the same.

I started studying like never seen before. This time I am in the NINJA route. so finished watching videos, started reviewing and re-writing notes in the weaker areas. I cant feel my thumb and index finger 🙁 the pain is horrible

What is your power weekend plan? BTW, thanks for sharing the updates. It will be very helpful for all AUD Ninjas…

Hiya CalCPA,

I am almost done with the updates. I really want to understand the changes – update my “notes – flash cards” and then just focus on practicing the questions over and over again. I found for me practicing the questions made the information sit well. I got Gleim for the SIm, they have like a 100 SIM and since that is my weakness I intend to make the most of it 🙂

So as I am going through the updates I want to make sure my understanding is correct and if not someone can help correct me 🙂 I should be done by Today and tomorrow onwards its practice practice …..

I still am waiting to get the CA board to give me the Step 5 so i can apply to NASABA to sit for AUD. Get the NTS number then apply for prometric for an appointment. The way its going (Very Slow) i highly doubt i will be able to sit the exam by July 1st. Think it will be July 15th.

My REG is set for Aug 31st so this next few months will be interesting. 🙂

@ insiyah24 Where did you find the information that it is called shared responsibility instead of division of responsibility? I'm using the 2013 Becker Version B edition (for exam taking After June 2013) And there is no mention.

Could someone please tell me if tests of controls are required for Audits of issuers(Public companies)? My study material states “PCAOB standards state that when performing tests of controls, the auditor must obtain evidence that the controls selected for testing were both designed effectively and operated effectively during the period of reliance”?

Hello Newbie ! I am using Rogers CPA and Wiley, thats where I got it from when going through the Audit Reports chapter.

My next step is to re-do all the Wiley home work book question – then re-do all the Wiley test bank question with what I have from Gleim.

How's everybody dealing with mcq memorization? I'm in my second round of mcq's in the wiley test bank and for the majority of the questions I already know the answer even though im trying to look at all the answers. Am I wasting my time doing them or should I go and do the mcqs from the wiley book?

I am really happy I came across this thread. I took AUD on May 31. I failed the exam. I was so hurt when I checked my score. It's been hard for me to get back into studying. After reading that I was not the only one that failed, I aam a little at ease. I am getting back into studying today. I am glad to be a member.

Hiya, I believe all CPA review course say, do practice the questions 2 to 3 times.

So I am going to do the HW book again and then do the Test banks.

I do tend to re-write the memory adds so that it helps me on exam day and this time i will hand write the reports out so that the key parts stick in my head.

I really want to pass AUD once and for all. I sleep eat and think CPA… even my “romantic” sentences to my husband are AUD based… Gosh its a sad life i live…..
