Julia_anikaMember@jackaroe, my guess is that PP&E can be recorded in repairs and maintenance account by mistake.
The adjusting entry would be debit to fixed assets and credit to repairs n maintenance.. and maybe depreciation should be recognized as well

Study MonkMember@jackaroe It's because maintenance and repair costs that expand the life of the asset are supposed to be capitalized. So its not that people are putting fixed assets into repair accounts it's because maintenance and repair costs are treated differently when they extend the life of the asset as apposed to routine repairs which are charged to an expense account.
I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:
"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

zxiaoMemberI have a question. When you guys were saying do lots of MCQs, do you mean thousands and thousands of different questions? Or you just practice with MCQs repeatedly? I only use Becker, and there are about 1500 MCQs, and I did all of them for at least three times.
There are three days left to study. What's your final review plans?
I did 500+ MCQs today and felt like a zombie now. I plan to reread my book again tomorrow and do final test 2 on Wednesday.
Good luck to all!

F15hyMemberSounds like a pretty solid study program. The only other thing I can suggest is doing the short little sample tests on the AICPA website. That way you can see some new questions and you'll know if you're just memorizing Becker's questions or actually understanding them… Good Luck!

zxiaoMember@F15hy Thank you for responding. I did AICPA sample test last week and I believe there's only five MCQs and about three SIMs. Sadly, Becker have the MCQs all… I hope I'm not memorizing the questions so each time I did a MCQ, I would force myself to tell why the other three were wrong. And I read the explanations. The thing bothers me is that I couldn't score 100 percent even though I did them more than three times!! I could only score above 95%.

F15hyMemberI think you should be ok then, that's really good if you can say why an answer is right or wrong. I'm sure you will be fine. Just find some other other MCQs to work on if you feel you need more practice, but I bet you're going to do great 🙂
