    Any mnemonic for memorizing the ‘Auditors Responsibility' paragraph in the standard unmodified audit report? Crikies it's long.

    Attribute Sampling: What is an ‘increase' in accessing control risk too low?

    The risk of accessing control risk too low is inversely related to sample size. An increase in the risk of assessing CR too low means that you need to increase the sample size.

    Assessing control risk at a high level means more substantive tests because you can't rely on the controls.

    Assessing control risk at a low level means that the controls appear to be operating effectively.

    I assume that ‘the risk of assessing control risk too low' means that you shouldn't have set the CR at a low level because the controls might not be working as effectively as you thought that they were.

    So how could there be an increase in the increased risk? Why wouldn't you just set the ‘low' level of CR to ‘high' and be done with it?

    @jackaroe, if I'm reading what you're writing correctly, it seems like the increase in assessing control risk too low is kind of like saying is it inherently more or less risky to assess control risk too low, is that what you're saying?

    Could someone help me understand:

    Vouching – Existence/Occurrence

    Tracing – Completeness

    If you could give example, greatly appreciated. It could be a simple way of knowing it, but i keep getting the answer wrong when I have to decide whether it's vouching or tracing.

    Thanks

    @tobecpa1

    Try this,, Completeness begins with source CBS as in source docs and E! Existence begins with end as in f/s, ledgers, etc going back to source docs

    Also, think of an arrow going up like a T for trace – from source docs up (courtesy of becker) for completeness and an arrow going down for vouch – back to source docs to ensure completeness (becker)

    This worked well for me and hopefully it helps you

    In the ninja audio Jeff mentions the ratios you need to know. I cannot find that spot and wondered if anyone knew what those ratios are? I hate memorizing them, and would like to narrow it down from the 2-3 pages of them in Becker.

    Thanks!
