This may be a really dumb question, but I need peace of mind on this topic for me.

Can someone clarify the what “Group Level” is and what “Financial Statement Level” is?

For example, when you have a non-significant component analytical procedures are performed at the group level. I believe it was in the NINJA notes. I just want to make sure that I am not misunderstanding what ‘group level' means.

    AUD: 71,66
    FAR: 52, 56, 69, 73(shoot me)
    REG:
    BEC:

Group Level refers to the overall audit including components/subsidiaries. Group Level Financial statements include individual component financial statements even if the subsidiary is using IFRS. Group Level determines the materiality about the component level (component level materiality is set at a lower level) and whether or not a component is ‘significant' which determines the level of intensity of work to be performed. Group Engagement team is required to obtain an understanding (competence and independence) of the component auditor to include risk assessments. and cannot refer to the work of the component auditor if the component auditor did not perform in accordance with GAAS.

W/R/T ” ‘non-significant' component analytical procedures”: At a group level, the team must determine whether or not a component is of individual financial significance to the group or is likely to cause significant risk of material misstatement to the group as a whole. If it's deemed significant – then audit; otherwise apply analytical procedures.

@Kpmartin42 I had the same issue. You would think they would update this! It looks like it was an error in the 2013 version that did not get corrected for 2014.

    Hi guys,

I'm using the Wiley books and it doesn't really touch on GAO and governmental accounting very much. I was wondering if the NINJA notes is sufficient on the topics?

Hi everyone. I have been majorly slacking on studying for AUD. I have exactly 3 weeks till my test. I am using roger and have watched all lectures, read 1/2 book. No more procrastinating! Anyone else taking their test around the same time? For my last exam (REG) this board really helped to keep me motivated!
