Hey all, I have my rematch on the 26th, and I am not looking forward to it. Starting Friday it will be two straight weeks of MCQ's. I am finishing up my notes this week.

I signed up for the 6 month usage of AICPA literature. Has anyone incorporated that in their studies? The SIMS murdered me on my first attempt.

@art – I did that too. The layout is a little different than on the exam, but the same basic structure obviously. I was “weaker” on the SIMS the first time around too, so I figured I needed a little extra practice navigating the AL.

I signed up for it and tried using it with ALL of the SIMs I had in my review material…since it is not set up exactly like the AL, I did not find it as helpful as I had hoped it would be πŸ™

Since the SIMs can come from ANY material, there doesn't seem to be a fool proof way to study for them…believe me, I know (multiple retakes)

    Good Luck on your exam

Hello Everyone! Not sure how far you have gotten in your AUD review with Wiley, but i have a question about this one Simulation from Internal Control….It gives you this huge flowchart with activities for sales, shipping, billing, and collecting for Newton Hardware. It gives a list of responsibilities for Sales Clerk, Warehouse Clerk etc. and asks you to identify deficiencies. Long story short I missed a few and I'm wondering if anyone else could identify all of those deficiencies correctly following that flowchart? Because i couldn't. Also did anyone ever encounter these types of Simulations on the actual AUD exam? Thank you!

    @ salacas

I know which one your talking about…no, I did get it all correct the first time.

I have taken this exam multiple times πŸ™ and have never encountered such a SIM on the actual exam…hopefully, I haven't spoken too soon

@sieverd, I took my first CPA test a few days ago and my testing experience is the exact same as yours. I feel quite good about a couple Sims, the first testlet was easy and the second testlet was amazingly hard. I have no idea how I did but I have convinced myself I didn't pass at this point.

    AUD 83
    FAR 80
    REG 83
    BEC 81

    @stoleway

Thank you! That's make more sense.

God, I totally didn't plan this properly. My last exam (considering I pass REG) is AUD on January 27th… I just took REG three days ago and my NTS expires on January 30th.

Oh and busy season started this week.

Any motivational words about “yes you can do this” and whatnot?

Is it even POSSIBLE to take this monster on in three weeks time?

    BEC (July 2013)
    FAR (OCT 2013)
    REG (NOV 2013)
    AUD (JAN 2014)

The CPA Exam is an opponent that not even the Fellowship of the Ring would want to come across.

    I have a long...long...journey ahead of me.
