Remember how they used to walk you through the multiple choice at the end of each chapter in the old version of Becker? Now I see that these multiple choice are scattered at the end of the modules. Do they still go through them in the new version of Becker? I can't find it.

Does anyone know what the contents updates are for AUD I am currently using Becker's V1.2 and my license expires in 2 days. Should I order the 3.0 Version or keep the 1.2? I can't seem to find the content updates.

Hi everyone!

I am officially going to begin studying for AUD today after passing my 1st exam (BEC) recently. Do you all have any recommendations on how to study using the new material with Becker, or what areas are more heavily tested? For example, on BEC I was told there would be a lot of IT and COSO, and what do you know, it held to be true. Are there such focus areas in AUD?

Would love any tips and tricks for studying for Audit too! Thanks! Hope you are all doing well with studying and good luck to those taking it soon.

@off_beat-I know what you mean, but even with that, i think you can eventually figure out which sub-areas are weak-Ninja MCQ breaks them out into tiny little pieces and you could probably find corresponding topics in Becker. Also, Becker progress tests can help to see which areas are weak and correspond to Becker materials.

What are some circumstances where an auditor may perform an audit despite a lack of independence? My review book states the following, but I'm confused…

-if GAAS provides for circumstances that allow the auditor to accept the engagement
-if the auditor is required by law or regulation to accept the engagement

Do you suggest to update my course to 2017 or stick with 2016. The CSO has changed, but I guess core contents remain unchanged. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Yes they do. Under each question there are two boxes “Answer” “explanation”, click on explanation and you'll see their explanation

I am studying from volume 1.2 n 2016 classes
I too want to know about changes
Please let me know if you come to know about any changes
And do you have volume 3 of Becker??

I just can't handle more than two to three hours per day to study. My frustration is that in every MCQ I take or skills practice and sims, I score over 80% for most of them and then I say to myself I should have passed because I know those materials very well:(.
Well, hopefully this time around I'll pass but how's your studying going?

i feel ya man.
im scoring really well on the mcq as well but I know that is partly due to the fact that I've seen these questions before. I'm trying to take the extra step to think about why an answer is correct and why the other choices are incorrect. SIMs are still really difficult for me though.

Youre retaking it in the next couple weeks right?

Hey, everyone! I'm confused about clarified standards v. the old standards. I'm going back through the material with CPAexcel and see that they compare the old audit report (3 paragraph) with clarified report (4 paragraph). Why do I need to know the old report format if it has been superseded by the clarified report? Do some entity's use the old report? It doesn't say anything about this so I'm trying to figure out if I need to know the difference and who uses what report standards but I can't get a clear response to this.

@scared_cpa i cant say for sure that you'll see a question relating to the old standards. all the sims ive seen that relate to auditor reports use the clarified report.
