I had 2 today. One in the first set that was doable. One that was the last question in the last set that was a beast.

Can anyone tell me which engagements are covered by SSARS vs. SSAE vs. SAS? Just looked at a question and I am now so confused. =(

    SSARS: Preparation, Compilation, Review?
    SSAE: Agreed-Upon Procedures, Prospective, Pro-Forma, Compliance, MD&A?
SAS: NonIssuer only – Review of Interim FS, Audit

Are there any specific cases where it switches from one to another?

    I'm officially freaking out.

3/8 SIMS were very difficult. A lot of supporting documents. No DRS. Last SIM took 1.5hrs. I think time management is the key to this exam…Research question took about 5 minutes to find. Another 5 to confirm. Other 5 Sims were very manageable and fair, MCQ's were very manageable. Second testlet was definitely more wordy and was testing a lot of the “weirder” topics of AUD. Something important to note is that I did have the AL for AUD, TAX and FAR during my sims. So if you do get some topics that should be on FAR, try and utilize the AL that they are giving you.

    3/9 Exam experience

I have taken all 4 exams now. Today I walked out more confident than on any other test day.
MCQ were not bad. Second batch had me second guessing quite a bit though. My TBS's actually weren't bad. No DRS. I'm sure I missed a few points here and there on a few of them, but pretty manageable overall in the first 2 testlets of SIMS. The last testlet…. RIDICULOUS. The first one didn't make any sense at all. NONE. I am just brushing it off as a Pre-test question. The second I wouldn't have passed without prior knowledge and a little confirmation from AL. Still not confident in my answers though. Research was easy.

Now on to start studying for my retake of REG. Good luck everyone!!!

@Jesswink, you pretty much got it, except you need to remember that SSAE includes reviews, examinations, compilations, and AUP. The difference between SSAE and SSARS is that SSAE is in regards to a subject matter, or an assertion on a subject matter (other than historical Financial Statements). SSARS is in regards to preparations, compilations, or reviews of unaudited Financial Statements or financial information. If, for a non-issuer interim review, the FS are audited, you would follow SAS for the interim review not SSARS as SSARS is only used when the FS are unaudited. I hope that somewhat clears it up!

Feel free to chime in if I got something wrong or left something out.

Guys (and girls) I'm a little worried.

Left my full time job to keep my part time and knock out the CPA real quick. But…. almost five months later I haven't passed one. Turns out it was my habits, not the 40 hours of work. No matter, must press on.

I have AUD on the 31st after just studying for FAR. I took it once and got a 64, and here are my current stats:

I started on Sunday and I'm halfway through the MCQ. Even though I'm doing the framework backwards. I'm going to finish the MCQ, note my weaknesses, and read my old Becker and Ninja Book furiously, again taking notes on my weak spots.

MCQ, read, sims, read, MQC. Is there anything I'm missing? Will I be able to absorb it all in the next 21 days?

How's this for 3 days in to studying? I have AUD on the 31st and I NEED to pass

I have a lot of concepts I'm weak on, and I need to read more of the Ninja book, plus the B**cker book I have. But I've always found I get more out of reading after being exposed to the MCQ first. Sort of the opposite of the framework, but I can't get through the book otherwise.

How much should I worry about memorizing the similarities and differences in the sample reports?

I would say don't spend time memorizing the little tiny differences. Just be familiar with the format. Know what is included in each paragraph, the order of the paragraphs and the correct wording of important stuff

Okay I think I'm getting the hang of this and can pass my first section finally. Like I said in the previous post, I'm taking AUD on May 31st.

I've attempted 1,580 MCQ since Sunday… whew. 960 correct out of 1,580 for a 60.7% rate. Time to knock out the last 175 new questions.

I have a real old 2013 Becker AUD book and the 2015 Ninja book/notes. So far I'm doing pretty well- should I use those or spring for something new?
