Gah, I really don't want to spend the $200 but I'd rather spend it and not have to waste more time studying for these tests…..my wife really doesn't understand why I spent $3500 on study material and need to “supplement” haha.

@adam – Jeff does buy one get one free specials (not sure if it is still going on) but would audio/notes help? That is cheaper than the combo with the Wiley TB. It depends which aspects you think you'd be able to utilize the most. I just got the Wiley test bank and that's much cheaper than 200 from Jeff. It depends which you think would help most but there's definitely cheaper options, if interested!

What's your study schedule like? I saw you got 75 on BEC, I just got a 70:-(, now going to pass audit after four tries

    BEC- 67, 69

Just purchased the 10 point combo. Hoping to be able to get AUD done at the end of April so I can cram and try to squeeze in a shot at REG by the end of May.

@Journey – very true on just purchasing the Audio/Notes, would be good to supplement w just the audio while driving to/from work.

My study strategy for BEC was just to work a ton of MC questions (slowly – to make sure I fully understood) for the cost accounting chapters and focus on rewriting notes for the econ/IT/COSO sections. I also made up a sheet of most of the formulas that were in the material and then kept rewriting it until I could recite all the formulas in my sleep. The formula sheet really helped guide me through the more “math” based questions (esp variance) and the rereading/rewriting of the more “theory” based stuff (IT/Econ/COSO) helped me with those portions. For the writing portion I just read a few sample prompts from the Becker book and maybe practiced once – I was a history undergrad so I wasn't worried about the essays.

Good luck with it next time you take it, I was honestly very surprised I passed on my first try at it. Cost accounting was a struggle for me and I thought BEC might be the hardest test of all for me.

My strategy for AUD is still a bit undecided. I have been doing some reconnaissance around these boards to help guide me to the best way to prepare. Right now I'm just trying to get through the lectures and MC for the first go around. I've heard from a lot of people (maybe you?) that the flash cards are really helpful for this section so I plan to utilize those more than I have in the past. Open to any words of wisdom you may have from your takes as well!

I am going to write the Aud Exam in April, and currently using the Yaeger 2011 video alongwith Wiley 2012 review book. I plan to purchase the Wiley test bank 2013 too. Can someone tell me if the 2011 video is ok or there has been any changes since then?

    Finally done!!! Experience-pending. Ethics- Pending.

how many weeks are you planning on investing into AUD? – i intially planned it out for 8 weeks, dont want to risk failing and want to take advantage of every minute i have to make sure i pass, but i'm beginning to think that may have been waaaayyyyy too much. is 4-5 weeks a better idea? what are your study plans?

    AUD 85 (11.10 - expired), 0 (2.13), 82* (5.13)

I put 8 weeks in for my last audit attempt and I actually think it was too much time! I inadvertently memorized the majority of the questions in the test bank (I did over 2000) rather than truly understanding the concepts! I aslo feel that I got “stale” on the week 1 topics by the time I got to week 8. I'm retesting 4/16 and trying a more focused and concise approach this time!

    Good Luck Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂

I'm right there with you @Mints…5 Weeks should be plenty, anything more and I think I would start to fade. This is hopefully my last exam, so i am trying not to change my study habits too much given the good luck I have had over the past 6 months using Becker only.

Good Luck to everyone on AUD this coming qtr…i know quite a few of us are staring our last exam in the face looking for 99's but would all settle for 75's.

    BEC-75!
    AUD-84!
    REG-78!
    FAR-83!

    Hello Guys,

I am currently an auditor…been one for just over a year. In addition to being the mother of a busy 1 year old, I have been trying to juggle studying and working a full time job.

I took my first AUD exam in August of 2012, and got a 67, then I decided to try REG in November 2012 and got a 56. Went for my 2nd AUD attempt in January 2013 and received a 68…by this time I was so over the CPA exam, but I know that I have to do this to provide a better life for my son.

I used the Becker review course and study materials…but clearly they are not putting me where I need to be. I am HOPING and PRAYING that by investing in the 10 Point Combo, I can finally pass AUD and move on to REG!

I just want to hurry and get through these exams! Stress, Stress and more Stress!

    AUD: 66, 67, 87!!
    REG: 56, 63, 84!!
    FAR: 72, 78!!
    BEC: 71, 75!!

Into A5 with Becker now– this sampling stuff wasn't touched on in my intro to audit course. Everything to this point has been a review, so I guess let the real learning begin.

    Hello all!

I just found out last week that I passed FAR after my second attempt! It feels great to finally pass since my confidence was getting a little low after my first attempt. The day after I took my FAR exam, I started studying for AUD. I gave myself 8 weeks to study and will be taking the exam on 4/14. I am using Yaeger HomeStudy, the Wiley Test Bank, and recently purchased the Yaeger audio to listen to in the car to and from work. I am feeling pretty good about it all so far. Also, I am an internal auditor so the work I do in my job is helping me understand most of the concepts. Hoping and praying that it keeps going well!

Good luck to all of us taking AUD this quarter. I know we can do it if we put the time and effort in!

    FAR: 65, 77!
    AUD: 72, 72, 80!
    REG: 64, 84!
    BEC: 83!
    Ethics: 98!

I just got back into study mode after finding out that I didn't pass AUD a few weeks ago. Any advice on studying for a retake? I plan to sit at the end of April or beginning of May. I am using Becker self-study and just purchased NINJA notes and audio as a supplement. Should I purchase the Wiley test bank, as well?

My first time around, I just watched lectures and did MCQ's. During my review week, I redid MCQ's and took both Becker review exams. I put off SIMS planning to tackle them during my review, but then ended up running out of time and didn't get to practice much, and I know I did horrible on the SIMS on my exam.

    Thanks!

    B - 7/15/2013
    R - 10/1/2013

Scheduled AUD for April 22. This weekend I want to finish Module 3 in my Wiley book and start the next one. The plan is to do all the reading/notes in March so that in April I can do a bunch of questions. I'm hoping for a good score on this section especially since I'm an auditor.

    REG - 5/29/12 (64), 10/1/12 (74), 5/20/13 (75, expires 12/31/14)
    FAR - 8/14/12 (64), 8/5/14 (75)
    BEC - 11/19/12 (70), 2/25/13 (72), 11/21/13 (73), 1/21/14 (73), 8/30/14 (72), 11/24/14 (75)
    AUD - 4/22/13 (65), 10/12/13 (79)

    I'm done!!!

    Ethics - Pass
