victoriaMemberThis is my first post on here. I got a 70 on Audit last window and retaking AUD first week in April. I'm using Becker self-study. Does anyone have any recommendations. Is becker enough or should I look into other products. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

LisaMarie0426Member@victoria I'm borrowing a friend's Wiley test bank software for AUD, because I'm not feeling confident with Becker to take AUD the 3rd time. I never had an auditing internship/never worked in auditing, so my knowledge is purely book-based and from the auditee perspective, not the auditor. If you're in the same boat, I would honestly recommend getting something to supplement Becker. That being said, everyone learns differently. Either way – good luck!

gdubb29ParticipantDoes anybody have any advice for how to do well on Simulations?? I'm struggling mightily with them and it's the only hold up between passing and not?
I keep hearing that you can use the Authoritative Literature for all of the questions. Is this true? and if so, how does it help?

AnonymousInactiveIf you have the Becker software, the SIMS practice comes with the multiple choice questions. Think of the SIMS as one long multiple choice question. The more you practice working the SIMs, the more confident you will become. Becker and Wiley have great SIMS practice questions.

MintsRGoodParticipant@LisaMarie0426 I am in the EXACT same situation!!! I am also going to rewrite my own notes as well as write/re-write the Ninja Notes 2-3 times before I retest after tax season ends. I don't have the Becker Software, but I do have a second hand Becker text from a pal who already passed audit as well as the test bank, ninja notes and audio. I picked up the Wiley Text from my local bookstore to see a new perspective on some of the trickier topics like evidence and reporting. This is pretty much the last shot we have before the new standards are implemented, and I'm hoping this will be the last time we will ever have to look at this awful crap again!!!! 🙂
Good luck everyone!!!!! 🙂

Journey to FateParticipantHi lisa and mintsrgood – stay focused and keep at it
as you can see from my signature, this is my fourth time taking audit, before this week i had never scored above a 63 on an exam, but after switching to becker and devoting more time than i have in the past, i am confident that this time around, I will pass audit. I felt I could have put a little more time in with BEC and when I got the 70, it proved to myself that I can pass these exams. AUD will be the first one and I am look forward to overcoming the obstacle. You guys will too!
This time around I am using everything…ninja notes, becker, wiley test bank and ninja audio and this time writing notes and fact nuggets after each MC… I have learned that what I did in the past did not work and what I started to do for BEC did work…
Let's keep the positivity going and we will pass this time around!

AnonymousInactiveJust got my REG score back yesterday and started hitting A1 last night. I am using Becker material including the flashcards. I'm considering purchasing hte 10 point combo but had to come 100% out of pocket on Becker already…trying to do a little research and see if Becker material will be enough on its own.

whatamidoingMember@Adam – I got in the 90s using only Becker, however I do have 4 years of prior audit experience, but I've been out of auditing for the past three years. I thought Becker did an excellent job preparing me for it. I wasn't surprised at any of the content. I swear I recognized some MCQ on the exam from Becker homework.

R - 87 (1/2013)

solis087MemberI'm also freaking out a little bit… Wrote and passed BEC and REG (worked in tax since I graduated) without studying that much… Tried this method with AUD. It just went BAD. Thanks to the simulation, I did not end up with like a 30. lol
So I'm starting this for real. Scheduled my exam for April 2. Will work my a off until then. 3 hours every weekday evening, 7 hours on weekend days and a week off before the exam to wrap everything off. Hopefully that is going to be enough. Is there something that really helped you guys to learn by heart, or to do?
Hopefully everything will go smoothly, that way, I can write FAR in the beginning of July and be done! 🙂
I'm tracking my time as “chargeable hours” (can get the girl out the firm, but can't get the firm out of the girl ;)). Does anybody else do that? How many chargeable hours to be ready for AUD?
BEC: 80
REG: 75
AUD: 57, 80

AnonymousInactive@Whatamidoing thanks for the wisdom. I think I'll give it a go with just Becker for Audit and then if I pass go ahead and pony up for the 10 point combo when tackling the last exam, the beast, FAR

Journey to FateParticipant@Adam, this is my fourth go around with AUD but first time seriously using the ninja audio and notes. they are awesome. it really is great to even spend that 15 minutes walking, twenty minutes driving, or any time in between that you can squeeze in some study time. I am also using Becker this time around and am confident that this time is my time to pass.
@solis – no reason to freak out! are you using any materials to supplement Becker?
to everyone else- keep up the good work! I am gaining confidence myself that a pass is in my future!
