someaccountantParticipantAUD on Tuesday. Have 120 MCQ's I've yet to view and a final review of a 8 page condensed version of the NINJA notes. I'm at the point where I think the exposure to 120 more questions and actually memorizing the GAAS standards among other random things is about the only thing I can do at this point. I feel like I should have studied more but there is so much less material than REG or FAR
FAR - 84!
REG - 76!
AUD - 80!

The question is asking about General Standards related to “Professional Standards” i.e Rule 201 :
1. Professional Competence
2. Due Professional Care
3. Plan and Supervise
4. Sufficient Relevant Data
Therefore “Internal Control” is the one that does not relate to this standard.
People please help with the research question in simulations. I really need to know how to approach them.

AnonymousInactivetaiyab,
“People please help with the research question in simulations. I really need to know how to approach them. “
For the past few weeks I was ending my study sessions by doing a few research SIMs on the Wiley Test Bank. I was also physically writing out the key words as I read the passage. It helped me plan out how I was going to do my search, instead of just haphazardly typing in words in the search window and hoping that something popped up.
If you haven't already done so, register for access to the AICPA database. Compared to Wiley, it's much more representative to the one that you'll work with at the exam and it allows you to practice more detailed/complex searches.

NickTMember@mints check this out, this really helped me with that chapter; which I just finished. Even though it is Wiki, it has some good info. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auditor's_report

MintsRGoodParticipant@JTF Don't worry!!! You still have plenty of time and it's for the best you get a rough score NOW as opposed to a few days before test day. Are the majority of the incorrect responses in one particular topic? If so, you know what to do!!! It's also possible that you've become very familiar with your test banks! Before my last go around with Auditing on 2/25 I had an 88% average in the Wiley test bank but got a 68 on exam day! Becoming overly familiar can pad your stats, so take the 60 and see it as an opportunity to tighten up a problem area!
@NickT It's helpful to see something written about auditing (even though it's taken with a grain of salt b/c of Wiki) in plain language rather than Wiley textbook language! Ha! I finished off the last of the Wiley text last week and am rewriting notes and running MCQS. How are you doing? Where are you at in the book?
Rant ahead…buyer beware!
SO….I work in public accounting and I haven't had a day off since 3/17 and won't again until April 16th which is my test day! I really enjoy corporate taxation (I'm nuts) so I don't mind the work or the crazy hours but I despise coming home to prep for audit at night! Honestly I am still bitter about not passing on 2/25 (my previous attempts were last summer and I was extremely unprepared=61 and only took it a second time because my NTS was about to expire after kicking the audit can down the road for months and thought “why not?”=71) when I put in so many hours and thousands of MCQS literally. It kills me to think that I put in around 160 hours, 2000+ MCQS, notes, etc. and actually did worse than when I took it the second time with an “I don't care, let's roll the dice because I already paid for the NTS” attitude. Ugh. I'm doing my best to use it as motivation to learn the material SO deep this time! I have been focused on quality and depth vs. quantity of MCQS. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, but going through the Wiley text at a snail pace has been painful. Hopefully it will all pay off on 4/16 and I can put this section to bed. I have BEC scheduled for 5/31 so it would be huge to pass them both this quarter and spend June and July knocking out FAR and being done!!!! Frankly studying ANYTHING else but Auditing sounds amazing at this point!!!!! I can't wait to wake up on 4/17 and be done with Tax Season and Auditing!!!!!!! 🙂
Thanks for tolerating the rant and best of luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

ZaqParticipantSo I've taken FAR and REG so far and I have to say…
AUD feels very weird to study for.
I'm using Becker, and I'm having a hard time approaching a way to study for this efficiently. The weird part is that I feel like I'm kinda just “barely” getting through the lectures because of the mass amount of information being talked about… but I'm scoring like an average of 75's on the HW questions. Consistently. So I can't tell if I'm just getting lucky? Or the Becker book material is much more complex than the questions themselves?
I'm only on A2 at the end about to go to A3. I've been told that A3 and A4 are hellish, and that it tends to get better A5 and A6.
FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
AUD: 65, 91!?
BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

jackaroeParticipantMore info to be tested beginning July 1rst on the ‘Clarity' project/standards.
What is clear is that I will be REtaking my AUD in late May. At least the material won't be new.

NickTMember@mints ya I know what you mean, Wiley book is really dry.
To be honest I have been slacking off quite a bit, I just finished chapter 5 yesterday. I should have another chapter done next week as well. I am only sitting for the exam late April or early May (haven't booked the time yet), so I am procrastinating a bit ha. I'll get it all done within two weeks. When are you sitting for the exam? We should share our notes, I can send you my “cheat sheet” to compare. It looks pretty darn good.

AnonymousInactiveinferno, don't worry, you'll be singing a different tune after A3 and A4. good luck 🙂

AnonymousInactiveA member can accept commission/referral for compilation, only if member states that the “member is NOT independent. “
If a member does not state that member is NOT independent, then it is assumed that member is independent and therefore, commission/referral are NOT ALLOWED.
So, I think where independence is required, commission/referral is NOT ALLOWED, whereas,
Independence is NOT requires, commission/referral are allowed (must disclose commission)
Are these correct statements ??

ZaqParticipant@DC: Ugh, you're right. In the middle of Becker's A4. Wtf is going on? Lol.
I feel like I'm having a very difficult time focusing on these lectures. Very hard to pay attention to Tim ramble on and on about a plethora of information. Almost feel like reading the book and just skipping the lectures at this point.
Jeebus. Lemme regather myself and go back in. On the verge of falling asleep. The information is so LONG and LENGTHY and BORING. Does anyone else feel this way about AUD?

ZaqParticipantWorking on the AUD A4 questions. All I can say is, “What in the actual f*ck?”
I have no idea how I'm suppose to be answering these questions without a reference let alone being able to memorize ALL of the details in its entirety. So many unfamiliar terms that I feel Becker just assumes you should be knowledgeable on.
This is a nightmare.
