So I’m studying for AUD right now and I scheduled the exam for July 5th. I have heard that some AUD SIMS are sometimes based on FAR concepts. The problem is I haven’t taken FAR yet so should I worry? Is there any particular concept/topic I should study?

it's basic FAR that you will see in the becker sims if you are using becker (FOB shipping terms, consignment rules, basic journal entries, etc.) but it's a tough exam. I failed back in May. Rematch next month.

I'm using Surgent and Ninja….is there any chance of in depth FAR concepts? I'm fine if it's just basic concepts.

I got several multiple choice questions and a whole SIM on contingent liabilities. There was also a SIM on subsequent events. If you review any FAR material, I would focus more on presentation and disclosure requirements than advanced journal entries or calculations (no pensions, leases, consolidations, etc.). Also, my advice for AUD is to read the book and internalize concepts. There is an over-emphasis on practice questions on this site. If you understand the material, it won't matter how exactly they ask you about it. Good luck!

I took audit on 6/10/2019 and I have not taken FAR yet. I found the exam to be pretty easy. I finished in just over two hours and I didn't have any trouble with the simulations. I had to record a bad debt expense and change a long-term liability into a current liability. Personally, I would just read the book and then make sure to go over lots of MCQs. I am still waiting on my results but I'd be shocked if I don't pass.
