AUD Sims seemed more like FAR. Anyone else run into this? Being very general

    I don’t want to violate the TOS on here, so I am going to be very general when I ask this question. If I am too detailed, please let me know.

    I took AUD this past Monday, and while the Yaeger materials I used prepared me well for the MC questions, the simulations were quite different. A few of the parts of the sims seemed like they should have been on a FAR exam rather than in AUD. Maybe it is just me, but has anyone else run into this when they took AUD?

    Alexintown I have the same experience last time when I took Auditing last August. I got high scores in MCQ but very weak in sims. I have read in this blog from other candidates that their sims in Auditing seems more of FAR. That is why Dr. Yaeger would recommend that you should take FAR first before taking Auditing exam. In my opinion, as well as you do well in MCQ you will pass Auditing.

    BEC 2/8/10 - 75 (studied hard & prayed less)
    REG 5/15/10 - 88 (studied less but prayed hard)
    AUDITING 8/9/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard)
    FAR 11/30/10 - 79 (studied hard and prayed hard) Thanks GOD! I'm DONE

    Well Suzzette, I guess I missed the memo on taking FAR first 🙂 But I am glad to hear this has happened to other candidates. I am pretty confident I did decent on the MC and I was able to finish the sims this time out, so what happens happens.

    REG can have “FAR” type sims too.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

    I actually had a reverse experience. One of my FAR sims was straight up AUD. I took FAR first.

    FAR - 98; AUD - 94; REG - 95; BEC - Waiting;
    Becker Scholarship for Success (I got it free :))

    I feel as if this is very common. I received “FAR-type” sims in both AUD and REG.

    AUD: 95 (7/14/10)
    REG: 94 (7/22/10)
    BEC: 87 (7/29/10)
    FAR: 95 (8/12/10)

    Yes, there always seems to be FAR questions on the AUD exam. AUD is based on the financial statements. That is why I suggest that CPA candidates take FAR BEFORE AUD.
