Hello everyone. I wanted to see if someone could give me advice on how to complete the SIMS for AUD. I recently failed the exam and i received the report on how i did. I was comparable in MCQ, but SIMS i was weaker in. I must have did terrible in this section. Now, I am going to retake the exam on 1/27. I have the ten point combo, so hopefully i will keep everything fresh in my mind for the retake. How do i go about the sims?I am at a loss and any help will be greatly appreciated.

What I did was just look at the explanations for some of the sims but I think the best thing would be to really understand the material. Knowing the audit procedures as well as assertions inside out is another thing I would recommend.

-assertions and related methods of testing
-opinions/reports
-ratios (and what they mean)
-internal controls and segregation of duties
-which circumstances require what action (E.G. control risk = high = more substantive tests)
-nature, timing, and extent of audit evidence, etc.

these got the most attention in the software I used (gleim).

be sure to save enough time for simulations

That should be good. One thing I think would help a lot are the ninja plus videos. I used them for my far retake and they were amazing. Bob was great at making everything click. I watched his audit ones on internal control and audit evidence and they were really helpful.

That is my plan. I want to complete the videos in a week (since i work full time) I am also watching the blitz video too. I just cannot get my self to read the text. I just can't get myself to read them without getting tired. I am nervous not to read them though. Do you think the books are that big of a deal to read if i am watching the blitz and the plus videos??

I just cannot afford to fail this again. I know I have to gain on the sims, but i do not want to make it my focus and loss the experience I have with the MCQ.

for what it's worth, I didn't read the books at all for AUD (I have gleim and becker books).

Okay, feel a little better. I never been a book learner, but more of a hands on and visual learner. I just knew i am missing something because i keep getting high 60's on my test. Although, I think it is the SIMS that are killing me.
