I’ve took FAR and SIMs definitely gave me some difficulty! Would anyone plz recommend any tips for preparing for the SIMs on AUD or what to expect for the SIMs on AUD? What worked for you the most? Did you use the AL to help you with non research SIMs on AUD. Any help or insight would be definitely be appreciated. As I said, I freak out on SIMs and it usually takes me 10 mins before I settle down and answer them, as was the case for FAR. On FAR, I left myself with an 1 hour and 20 mins to answer all 7 and didn’t even finished all 7–finished almost 6 and filled in numbers for the last SIM. I luckily passed FAR by doing really good on the MCQs. The people that well in SIM section, would you recommend more or less time on AUD SIMs? If you’ve taken FAR, did you find the SIMs harder than FAR?

@Moeshow _ I am like you SIMs FREAK me out! ha ha ha…. FAR I think I sat there staring like a deer in the headlight for five mins before even beginning to attempt the first one.

With AUD I had about an 1:45 on the clock going into them- I managed to finish with 3 mins to spare. The AL was VERY helpful on 1 or maybe 2 of the SIMS (outside of the research one)- so definitely know that you can utilize that. The others not so much. I would definitely say brush up on some of your basic FAR skills like journal entries… (debits and credits)-

I also had one of the DRSs- and that ate up a good 10 mins of me looking at it going “ooooh eeffff me”… but I realized once I took a deep breath and calmed down that it really wasn't that hard, but it was tedious and it was time consuming so I was glad that I left it for last because at that point I had completed the others.

Overall they were hard but I would say they were definitely not the nightmare that my FAR and REG SIMs had been… none of them were foreign and I think they were all “doable” if that makes sense… GOOD LUCK!

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

From my experience, I would suggest giving yourself as much time as possible on the SIMs. 40 mins per section of MCQs should give you about 2 hours for the SIMs. There is never “enough” time for SIMs. I have found that I could spend hours double checking and thinking through the SIMs. Becker A4 and the appendixes of A4 seem to carry a lot of important material that can be tested on SIMs.

    AUD - 9/8/16
    FAR - 10/28/16

I felt like there was plenty of time for AUD and I'm a slow test taker. I left one SIM blank on FAR because I ran out of time. I went through the AUD MCQ testlets way faster than I did on FAR. There are no calculations, so. Think I had 2-2.5 hours for the SIMs.

    FAR - June 2016 - 88
    REG - July 2016 - 89
AUD - Aug 2016 - review phase currently
    BEC - Sep 2016 -

I had around two hours to do the sims so I was able to take my time and read through everything carefully. I tried to answer everything and then later I used the authoritative literature to double check my answers. Also, I did all of the audit sims that are in Becker and, honestly, it helped me the most.

Do a TON of MCQs. This will have two benefits:

    1) It will hopefully give you enough knowledge to zoom through the MCQs on the exam and leave a good amount of time to do the SIMS.
    2) The MCQs will, in and of themselves, give you the knowledge you need to complete the SIMS.*

*I am one of those “there is no point in doing practice SIMS” people.
