    (Thank you for the heads up, I’m new at this)

    I am taking the AUD exam again for the third time in 2 weeks. Does any one have any advice on how to better understand the audit risk formula?

    I have listened to the Becker lectures 4 times now and have done all the questions and simulations 7 times. I cannot fail this exam again! Please help me.

    You're posting exam information…I advise you to edit before you get in trouble for it…

    Hmm… I think she's posting BECKER exam information. Bit of a difference there, I believe.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

    Nah my man. I got the same question she posted on my AUD exam today.

    I don't want her to get in trouble for it. I wouldn't care less if I were a douche, but I know how strict they are about these things, just pointing her out of the gray zone, that's all.

    cpatime is right. I edited my original post. I just need help in applying the audit risk formula to real life situations or transactions, to go beyond what Becker covers.

    @Jessica

    This is how the CPA is tricky, ESPECIALLY the TBS. They know what you studied, and that's where the multiple comes in.

    For TBS, they want to see if you really understand the material. I didn't do a THING extra for the Audit Risk section. Just went over the lecture and understood it. Did the MCQ's in Becker and learned from my mistakes. Make sure you UNDERSTAND the material and how it could be applied if they were to ask the question from a different angle.

    As for the formula.

    AR = Inherent Risk * Control Risk * Detection Risk.

    Break it down like the lecture did. I thought Tim Gearty was phenomenal in explaining it. I promise you that I did nothing more than what I told you. I broke it down on my notebook just like that, played around with it and made scenarios that fit into my numbers to make sure I understood it like his lecture explained it.

    Understanding is key.

    @cpatime…

    Thank you so much! I will try this time to focus on the understanding the concepts. Do you think this will work with with sampling as well?

    I also am using becker the thing that helped me was the teeter totter analysis. If you focus on that how it should be balanced and how to balance and it then you will be fine. I literally read that page over and over again. Also (I know this sounds dumb) but try and rewrite the formula over and over again (hand written) or say it out loud over and over again! (Please let me know if I too have said something that is taboo) New to this as well : )

    Form is temporary, class is permanent.

    Audit 4/19/12 - 77
    BEC 5/31/12 - 75
    FAR 8/30/12
