During the real exam, does anyone use research tabs for simulations? or just for the research question?

I feel confuse about this part, during past exams, I dont feel like research tabs helps with simulations.

Does anyone hold the same feeling?

I tried to use the research tab on a small number of questions over 4 exams. I think one answer materialized from it. It paid off for me (by a slim margin) to simply go with what I knew rather than burn time.
