AUD – one week until exam day

I have one week until exam date, and I want to make sure I walk out of this one with a pass. I’m consistently scoring 80-83% on the MCQ practice exams for Audit, and feel pretty good about this. I’m a bit worried about simulations pulling my score down.

Anyone have advice on how to use this last week of exam preparation?

    B - (08/29/2013) Passed
    A - (07/02/2013) Passed
    R - (10/17/2013) 73 - Rematch
    F - (05/29/2013) Passed

Just keep practicing the SIM if you are weak there. Try to assess why you are weak and work on those areas. SIM's do make up a good junk of the exam score so you can't reply on MCq's to get you to pass.

I would just keep practicing and dont get discouraged. learn from the mistakes you are making. Good Luck!!

Keep your head up and keep grinding out MCQs.

One advice for AUD during the actual test:

PLEASE USE THE AUTHORITATIVE LITERATURE DURING THE SIMS

It will save your life, trust me.

I didn't find the authoritative literature as integrally important as other people, but it does allow you to confirm your answers. I think that I used it to check half of a simulation and check an entire other simulation, and I had two research questions as well. With that said, it's definitely more useful here than for the REG or FAR simulations.

Just keep hitting the multiple choice questions; they really carry over to the simulations. Beyond that, just make sure that you're concentrating on what the question is actually asking. For example, if you have a question dealing with a review procedure, you have to make sure that you understand they're asking about a review and not an audit. If you see a possible answer as “confirmation of receivables”, that might look good but that has nothing to do with reviews, just audits.

As long as you carefully read the question and understand what the question demands, it's the easiest exam of them all (in my opinion).

Yeah, I only have a week and a half left.

Since I've downloaded this Wiley AUD App for my iPhone, I've been hammering out MCQ's like nobody's business. 100 a day minimum with plenty of time leftover to take notes on items I got wrong, didn't understand, etc. I was initially scoring around the mid 70's when I first took AUD. Now I'm scoring in the higher 80's with a few 90's here and there. For the Wiley online test bank on my laptop, I always assign the “Never seen before” MCQ's and I still seem to be doing fairly well.

Did a 50 question Progress Exam for Becker just to mix up the style a bit. Got a 90 on that lastnight.

So I “feel” like I'm doing well, but I have this inner gut feeling that I'm still not prepared enough. To help with that, I'm going to do one more last speed read of the Becker material just to see if any topics jump out me as being foreign, but to overall confirm my familiarity with all of the topics. And I'm going to continue to do non-stop MCQ's Wiley & Becker.

Crossing my fingers for Sims. I've went over all of Becker's Sims twice, but I refuse to do any more additional ones for practice. They drain my life away in an instant and make me inefficient for the rest of the day.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

@inferno how did you raise your FAR score?

Lol, someone just asked me this in another thread. FAR was my first exam so I definitely underestimated it.

    1.) FAR Ninja Audio

    2.) Hundreds of MCQ's

3.) No video games. No TV. No skipping days. Gym 3x a week.

4.) Proper sleep schedule. Less energy drink. Healthier eating.

FAR is a matter of putting in the time. Don't put too much time in one section, but definitely aim to be at the end so you can have 2-3 weeks of solid review. Then focus on trying to retain as much information as possible as a whole by cramming out Progress Exams like no tomorrow. It's better to be a Jack of All Trades in this exam than to be weak in 2-3 chapters since exams can sometimes heavily hit your weak spots and ignore your strong areas.

    Hope this helps!
