    Hi All,

I will be taking my AUD exam this Saturday, and I am not even finished with the lectures! I am using Yeager, currently in Module 4 Part 1, and I don’t know if I should continue with the lectures or start with the minimum m/c already. I know it is going to be very hard for me to pass the exam as the only AUD class I took in college was 4 years ago, and I have no public accounting experience. But I have decided that I should still give it a try instead of postponing the exam till next year. I’d like to know if any of you were able to pass the exam without finishing the lectures? How many days it took you to finish all the minimum m/c? What areas should I be focusing on? With only few days left, I want to use my time as efficiently as possible. Should I keep listening to the lecture, take notes while doing the problems that Gary goes over with us, or should I jump directly to the m/c? Basically, I only have 3 hours tomorrow, 1/2 day Thursday, whole day Friday, and 1/2 day Saturday to study for the exam. Your suggestion is greatly appreciated!

You need to start doing MCQs as soon as possible! The lectures are important but it's the MCQs that will solidy your understanding. It looks like you brought it too close to the wire so there are really no great options here but I would definitely try to do every minimum MCQ they assign before taking the exam. That's just my opinion and good luck on the exam!

I think you need to finish the lectures. Don't get me wrong, MCQ's are of extreme importance. But how helpful is doing 100 MCQ's, getting 70 wrong, and not really understanding why you got them wrong? There are people who don't even watch lectures, just do thousands of MCQ's and pass, but I feel that, for me, unless you build the knowledge base from the lectures, you're just getting MCQ's wrong and not really knowing why because you don't really understand the explanations because you didn't watch the videos. You do not have an auditing background. Watch the videos, do marathon sessions if you need. Do some work Thursday morning, enjoy the rest of the holiday, then do as much MCQ's as possible. I found auditing questions to be somewhat formulaic. A which one doesn't belong/which answer makes the evidence more reasonable/believable. Think of each question. Also, I found that when I would get questions wrong in AUD, it was because I didn't read the question or answers carefully enough. Good Luck

I would finish mod 4 lecture today. Do the mcqs for that module too if you have time Then just read the stat sampling and it modules on Thursday, and start mcqs. Mod 1-4 are most important. Finish them all before Fri evening. Take a break… review the wrong ones Fri evening. Get a good nights rest. on sat go over the mnuemonics, your notes/ handouts and summaries in text. Good luck think positive.
