    So I’m taking audit on 11/26/11, but I actually wish it was this Saturday. If this was the case I would just amp up my studying till then and get the damn thing over with! Then I’d be able to relax over Thanksgiving weekend. But now I’m struggling to keep up the pace and not forget things until next weekend. Anyone else feel like this? Ugh I wish I had a break..

    @misanthrope87,

    I can totally relate to you. I am feeling a bit of that also. I am testing on 11/23 and I was trying to move up my date for a couple of reasons: first, I agree with you, if I moved up my date, then maybe I would get a fire lit under me and start committing things to memory, second: what was I thinking scheduling an exam the day before the holiday? Not smart. My oldest son comes home from college that day and I will be sitting at Prometric! I am so out of touch with life, that I just found out yesterday that my youngest is off a half day on Friday, and then off all next week for the holiday. WTH? I am a lame mom. Going to be tough to get ready for the holiday, have kids in the house and study for the most evil despicable exam ever. HAHA. I can say that since it is my 3rd try. I just don't “speak” Audit.

    All I can say, is keep calling Prometric, you might get lucky with a spot opening up, if not, get it going because you don't want to do this again! Have a great day.

    misanthrope86/yankeeaccountant,

    I can relate as well. My AUD exam is not too far away (on 11/22) but I wish i had left the exam on 11/18 (Friday). I am feeling body exhaustion, brain exhaustion, and all the other exhaustions. I am in that mood where I don't want to study when I get home but I have been making myself do something. I have been taking at least 2 practice test either rotating between Becker & Wiley throughout the day at work. So i feel you and do understand.!!

    @Mylife

    Exhaustion and disenchantment for me too! It is harder every day to summon up the gumption. For some reason, I have saved the worst for last! Audit is the…….UGH!

    I think we all have to keep ourselves accountable–we have to prod each other–none of us want to do this again. Right? So,

    keep up the practice tests, and I will do the same. BTW have you tried the released AICPA mcq's? Good practice!

    @ThunderFan, Becker has them under ->Student Resources-> Updates and Academic Support -> ______ Course updates

    For the most part you can just google 200X AICPA released questions and find PDF's for as many years as you want/need.

    B - 79 PASSED (1/4 there!)
    A - 77 PASSED (1/2 there!)
    F - 79 PASSED (3/4 there!)
    R - 83 PASSED (DONE!!!!!!)

    Hey Misantrope87 and Mylife

    How is Audit going? I am stuck in the 72-75 range —ugh. I sit on 11/23, so I believe I have time to amp it up in the 80 range. I have to get some pesky details down pat on Audit reports and in the transaction cycles. The way I see it : all I need is to get 4-7 more mcq's correct—which makes it doable in my head. So, back to work.

    Hope your studying is going well!

    Hey Yankee!!!! I just got home from the library and so far today I have taken 2 practice test of 100 each and SIMS. I got in the 80's on both. I printed off the AICPA release questions (Thanks OnMyWayToCPA & Brian), So I am going to start working on those. I have this all day cram course(8am-6pm) with the Accounting Insitute Seminars tomorrow, I have taken them before for BEC and it helps me to tie up loose ends on topics I am confused about.

    Hey MyLifeisCPA,

    I love the library! Sounds like you are doing great! I think the AICPA questions are great to study from. I did the 2009, 2010, and 2011 released questions. I am going to go thru 2011 again. I took it earlier this week and got a 72%. UGH. I found them to be super tricky. I got in the 80's for the other two years. I do feel confident that I can nail down some things and get up in the 80's on the 2011. I always seem to score a bit higher in Becker and a tad lower in Wiley, go figure.

    I took an AIS class in January. Gosh, Al is the nicest guy. I think that taking that class right before an exam is smart. I took it about 5 weeks before an exam and got a 72 or 70 on FAR. (Luckily I passed it the next window!) The thing I liked about him is that he was so zen like. I love that. Me, I am nervy. So, I found him very relaxing and reassuring. I would have used them again, but my pockets are empty!! Enjoy the class tomorrow. I will check back with you over the weekend!

    Yankee, that is true. That's why I went ahead and took the cram course since my exam is on Tuesday. Hopefully it will enhance my studying and the topics I am still weaker on like Audit Sampling.. Have a good night rest of the night of studying.

    Hey mylife and yankee! I'm waiting for the weekend to come so I can get more studying done. But I'm currently working on my 2nd review of the book. I'm on A4 (transaction cycles) and almost done. I want to be done with A5 (the last section) by Sunday and have all next week to do a final review. Especially during thanksgiving days off from work! So far, I'm on schedule.

    Hey guys!

    Hope the weekend was good study time for you ! I was doing pretty good, then took a wiley test ( I selected “questions not yet seen”) and did poorly. Regressed 🙁

    I just reread the Transaction cycle in Roger's book, I still feel like when I get a question, I don't know where to go. UGH. I might go back to my Becker book and read a bit through there.

    I did a bunch of sims today and I think that will be it, just mcq's from here on out. I will say, that I feel fried. I am burning out fast. I can't wait till Wednesday, I want this behind me. Let me know how you guys are faring!

    @yankee

    I have becker and I feel like they do a good job on the transaction cycle. But it was complicated for me so I had to read that section and do the mcqs 3 times before I felt more comfortable.

    I dunno how people manage to do it. I cant study for more than 4 hours per day no matter what. >< But I'm relying on Thurs and Fri so I wont have to work and can just study!

    @misanthrope

    Good luck! I am ripping thru A4 in Becker now. I think I will also read their chapter and hopefully that is all I will need. I hate when you get to the end, sometimes you feel like you know it, the next minute I am like, what?

    I think going for long days is what has me fried. But I refuse to fail this one. Come hell or come high water, I am passing. So, here's comes the pain! UGH!
