AUD in 6-7 weeks!?!?!?!

To avoid the SAS stuff, and because I have days where I will be working from home, can I do AUD in 6-7 weeks?

I can work from home potentially 2 days a week, giving me 4 full days (basically Fri-Mon) where I can study a good 4-8 hours a day. Is that enough to tackle AUD in a 6-7 week time frame?

BTW – I don’t have much audit knowledge, but it seems like information that one just needs to “get” – 2 of the 4 answers can be eliminated with a bit of background on the material from what I hear? Are there any mathematical problems or equations? Would be nice if I opened the audit book, but I won’t touch it until April 3 (after FAR) 🙂

    Happy studying!!!!

I think this is definitely doable. I think most people aim for 5 weeks, but I'm aiming for 6. I think of it as 2 chapters (of Becker) a week, plus 2 study weeks (and a week of leeway for me). Good luck! 🙂

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

I plan on doing it in 3 weeks after the change. If your schedule is truly flexible I have a detailed schedule that will show you how I am doing it. 2 weeks on (Becker, 3 full modules a week) 1 week review (Wiley/ninja). Let me know if you are interested.

JaimCPA: Yes – please share it. BTW – I am using CPAExcel, so you may be familiar with what's ahead for me…

8 hours a day is overkill. I think you will pass with your commitment.

    FAR - 92 02/2013
    AUD - 90 05/2013
    REG - 85 10/2013
    BEC - 80 12/2013

    I'M DONE. THANK YOU LORD!

Replace anything that says Becker/Wiley/Ninja with just CPAExcel if that is all you have. If you do have the supplements then just replace anything that says Becker/Progress Test.

Your review weeks should look like the following (the total hours studied in the first link includes the hours in this link below):

https://i.imgur.com/VQnwojw.png (Keep in mind you might not make it to the second week review, this is dependent of how much time you allocate for review).

Also, replace anything that says personal to what ever you want.

I try to limit the hours of studying straight to 4 max. This should really be 3 (based on some studies) but the Becker lectures are 4 hours. Since you have CPA excel, try to incorporate no more than 3 hours max at a time (3 hours then break, 3 hours then break, etc..).

Though the scheduel is really tailored towards Becker, you should not have a problem substituting a different review program. I completed FAR study with CPA excel a few months ago (just to refresh on some stuff) and a lot of my friends use it.

They recommend the following (I do too):

    1. Write out those PowerPoints, skip the lectures.

    2. Bombard yourself with multiple choice questions.

    3. Use forums if you are truly stuck on something.

    4. Write out the PowerPoints again a week before your exam/mix in some MCQ's.

^This is assuming CPAExcel is all you have (which is enough).

Let me know if you have any questions.

OH and one more thing (lol). Take roughly 20-25% of the hours away in total hours studied per section to get a better picture of what your quality hours will end up looking like. We are not machines 😉

@jaimcpa – thanks for sharing the schedule. Others have mentioned skipping the lectures as well in CPAExcel. I find them more valuable than the study text, powerpoint slides, and the textbooks. I guess everyone learns different. Some of the lecturers are pretty boring though (excluding Pam Smith).

The slides in CPAExcel are not comprehensive enough I think. The MCQs are great. I have found that CPAReviewForFree has much harder MCQs (more red herrings). I am used to CPAExcel's format now, including SIMs. Is the Wiley test bank similar to CPAExcel? I hear they use AICPA approved questions

Good luck. Your schedule is aggressive but it looks like you don't have heavy work commitments!

I am trying to finish up by end of summer (August), since I work full-time….

My boss is a godsend hence the awesome hours.

Also, everyone I know considers CPAExcels slides to be comprehensive enough to the point where they attributed 80% of their passing score to them. I've studied them and there are quite a bit to look at. They highlight the info you need extremely well.
