So as you can gather from the title, I have audit in 10 days! I am using Becker, and I’ve gone through all the lectures, MCQ, and read the chapters. I’ve only done around 50% of the SIMS though (mostly the research SIMS so I can get accustomed to using the authoritative literature.) I have not taken either of the practice exams or done many progress tests.

What would be the best use of my time? My plan was to hammer MCQ for the next 10 days from all the chapters, throwing in some progress tests here and there, and rereading the chapters and making notes of what I think are “key” points. Would it be beneficial to complete all the SIMS and the practice exams at this point?

What did you guys do or are you guys doing to review for audit?

Progress tests are a waste of time, no matter how far along you are. You won't know what questions you get on the real thing or how many of whichever topic.

By now, you know what your strengths are. Do a few blocks of 20 MCQs in those areas.

Don't forget to review the answers and know why you got the questions are right/wrong.

I'd also suggest to go through the most recent AICPA recently reviewed questions. Jeff has them available for 2015 and 2016.

Within the last 2 days of the exam just review. You won't gain any new revelations by then. You might also want to spend one of those two days reviewing your notes, MCQs, SIMs at a Starbucks or Panera Bread. Reason being, it will be a good way to practice concentrating with something you are already comfortable, under less than ideal conditions.

    Good luck

Do both of the provided final reviews. There's a thread out there somewhere on another71 that talks about scores on the final reviews vs. test and the final review scores you receive + 10 points (since Becker's tests seem to be very difficult) gives you a reasonable expectation for how the test will go. I scored about an 79% and a 73% on my practice tests, then an 89 on the real thing. Make sure you have a good handle on journal entries as well, you never know when they'll sneak some of those onto the TBS portion of the exam. Last of all, I spent the final night before the exam speed reading the book and emphasizing areas I knew I was weak in and found it to be super helpful on the exam.

I really like the outline in each chapter. I write that out and read along with the Becker book. Once you reread the chapter it will really click and make sense. Then Redo mcqs and a few sims if you have time. You can review a chapter in one day. Maybe 2 days for A4. After the review take a progress test. I scored 69,71 and got an 86 on actual.

    (First post!)
I feel your pain, but you seem to be preparing well! I learn best from practicing the MCQ over and over; I write down the ones I got wrong (time consuming, but works for me) and then review them again on the computer. I have the wiley test bank, wiley CPA exam focus notes & a generic booklet of 500 practice questions. Seriously considering ninja notes- If I will even have time to review them!

My test is on the 16th; Between now and then my football team has a playoff game (I know, I know- it shouldn't be a factor- but we never make the playoffs!) and I've been summoned to jury duty 7 days before my test date! I feel like I'm bound to fail!! I feel so unprepared and panic is setting in..So naturally I find this website and spend hours reading others advice haha! Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!
