What kind of assurance does an auditor provide in issuing a report on ICOFR under GAGAS?

Is this report a result of when an auditor finds or identifies deficiency in ICOC and MW in ICOC?

What if no deficiencies were identified during the evaluation of ICOC, is the auditor still required to prepare a report on ICOFR?

you can find reports on internal control over financial reporting online for real companies, there in the report you can see the assurances that are given. i dont think there are any assurances, the auditor just reports. so no assurance? i think they report on the IC similar to how a compliance audit would go, just a report.

if no weaknesses or deficiencies were found, a report would still be issued. at the least it provides evidence that the auditor complied with the applicable standards.
