    Hello all,

    Hoping someone can guide me, jsut a bit all over the map. So I will be writing AUD this January and not sure if I am preparing in the most efficient manner. I have completed all the becker lectures and now reading through the text. I made notes on the first chapter, but I felt it took too long. I am thinking of just doing MCQs from this point forward, but I am concerned I may not remember something from the text and it appear on the exam. Is the best way to pass this exam is questions, questions, questions…or note review, questions or other review materials. I’m open to any suggestions.

    Thanks

    I prefer to take notes and then do questions. It takes longer, but I retain more info that way. I don't like doing questions that I don't know anything about…

    REG - 76 (08/30/11)
    AUD - 81 (11/14/11)
    BEC - 88 (02/13/12)
    FAR - 86 (07/30/12)

    @foppa

    I think the key is doing what works for you. Some people need to watch the lectures and others read the book. I have done both, and for me doing different approaches helps to cement the info in. So, I like to get a bit of everything. I think for me, I have been out of school for so long, I need to amp up my studying habits which aren't as good as when I was in school.

    Since you have so much time (do you think it is too much?) I wouldn't focus on the mcq's till you are closer to the exam (at least 4 weeks out or so) so that you can retain as much as possible.

    good luck..

    Thanks Yankeeaccountant,

    Do you think becker mcq's are enough. It appears a lot of people supplement some of their review materials with other review programs and I am not sure if that is necessary. Thoughts?

    Also do you think I have too much time? I work full time so I feel I dont have enough time…lol..

    @Foppa

    I have always supplemented. But that is just me. I tend to memorize the questions fairly easily with Becker. I also use cpareviewforfree (it is free!!!), Wiley testbank (I think Jeff has this on sale now!), and I have used the Gleim free trial as well. I actually used the Gleim free trial for BEC–I thought they did a great job with BEC. I just think it is good to mix it up. Everybody has a different take, and that is good–to each his own. I feel overall that the Wiley testbank is the most representative of the exams. But then again, that is my opinion.

    Do what your gut tells you. In the end, you know best. In terms of too much time–that is a tough question. I think that alot of people say it can work against you. I always feel like I could have studied more when it is exam time, so who knows? I would definitely stroll thru the different forum topics: especially test taking strategies. You will find a bunch of info that way.

    Good luck and Welcome!

    Very important to understand the different reports. Very hard to retain the memory by reading or lectures. I prefer to type each report as if i'm the auditor for retention – saved me on exam day. This is in addition to the review – chose to add this since I was not getting it (reports were boring to read but to type was different).

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD

    I tend to learn from doing MCQ's. I will take a test, screw up, see where I messed up and then learn from my mistakes.

    I learned from just doing the Becker MCQ's over and over. Probably went through each AUD HW 3 times. I got a 92 on AUD. TIFWIW.
