    Hi everyone.

I am a recent graduate and was just approved to sit for the CPA Exams. I am using Rogers CPA and was planning to take AUD at the end of November. I am worried that I have no experience in Audit and have not taken a single Audit class while in college. Due to this and the 18 month rule, I figured I should maybe tackle this test first since I probably am the least prepared and familiar with this topic and perhaps would be relieved if I passed this.

Would 2 months be enough time to study sufficiently and pass the AUD section by end of November, or I should push it to January. I am not currently working right now and would hope to pass all 4 parts within 9 to 12 months or faster. Also any tips of studying for AUD or CPA exams in general would be helpful :).

Gosh, if you can study full time, 2 months should be more than enough time for AUD. I'd usually say it's too much time, although maybe not when you have 0 audit exposure.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Like Kimboroni said, 2 months of studying full time for AUD is too much because you run the risk of forgetting the material. AUD was also my first test I took. I studied 3.5 weeks for it full time, and passed with an 87. But thats because I took an audit class my last semester in college, so a lot of the material was easy for me to recall. Since you have no exposure to it, I think 5 weeks would be enough

I too have no auditing work experience and only a very light educational background in it (it's the one area of accounting that I've been exposed to only via an online course). I work full-time and so studied for about 2-2.5 hours each evening for around 5 weeks and while I didn't feel all that prepared going into the exam just because the material was so unfamiliar, I still managed a 75 and that was using only the Wiley Focus Notes, NINJA Notes, and NINJA MCQs as my study material.

That being said, I think that 2 months would be more than enough time to master all of the material. Since you'll be able to study full-time, you may even want to scale your study time back to 1 month since, from what I saw in my study materials, AUD is nearly as light in terms of actual content as BEC is.

    Good luck!

Thanks everyone and good luck on your studying too :).

I wasn't sure the amount of realistic prep time people would put in this section if its their first section, since it seems the popular choice is to take AUD after FAR (which has many overlapping info from what i've been told) Now I'm just hoping none of the November slots are already full.
