took audit yesterday guys…ive deinfitly felt worse when coming out of a test-no real surprises, the becker m.c. are GREAT. The sims were okay, except one was a little more FAR focused which threw me off, thank god ivee been studying for both! Also, the increase in difficulty of testlets most deinitly seemed apparent, someone had mentioned “questions get longer”, whihc i cant say exactly happened but deinfitly got more confusing and tricky.
Idk why but i went straight thru the 4 hours..had a lot of time to spare to reword my comunications until i felt they were gramatically impeccable haha-but i would deinftly not worry about time constraints, i feel like tomrrow will be more important with time.
Too all: Dont panic! The test is a TEST, its not a big surprise and once you get thru 5 or so m.c. you start to relax and everything is familair…youll do fine
If any general questions moldoll and others, let me know (obviusly not specific due to ‘regulations') haha but if wanna ask something feel free to email @ ‘ajferrer@loyola.edu'
GOOD LUCK!

Are we required to write one out in a simulation on occasion or what??
Just reply with a 1-10 with 10 bring most important if the wording of my inquiry makes you the least bit nervous.
November 17, 2010 at 8:14 pm #258153AldogParticipant@carolinablues: I would say writing the reports deifnitly gives you a great understanding of whats actually included in them, for writing purposes as well as m.c….someone repsonded erlier that knowing everyone word for word isnt necesary and i agree-but i took audit yesterday and could easily recite to you word for word the standard unQ report right now in under a minute hahaha

An advantage of statistical sampling over nonstatistical sampling is that statistical sampling helps an auditor to

November 19, 2010 at 2:06 am #258155AnonymousInactiveHey everyone, this is my first time posting over here. I've had quite a crazy day. Woke up to a 76 on BEC! Which was my first CPA test I have ever taken. Then had to go to AUD at 1. Quite a rollercoaster. During AUD my 2nd testlet was about the same difficulty as my 1st. Which scares me…however my 3rd testlest was extremelyyyy difficult. Is there anything I can take away from this? Do I have a chance? The Sims were very tough too, don't think I did too great on them. Any feedback would be great.
November 19, 2010 at 2:16 am #258156moldoll16ParticipantAlright just got done with my test… Not to bad.
I'm afraid the CPA gods will smite me for saying this, but I would be surprised if I didn't pass!
I swear most of my mcq were straight from the Becker pass-master. Sims were not terrible, although I am glad that I studied for FAR right before this exam, I definitely had financial statement related questions. Good luck to those of you who have it coming up! feel free to Facebook me to ask something

November 19, 2010 at 4:18 am #258157kitchenlittleParticipantI thought I passed AUD first time….questions were easy. My second exam WAY harder and hoping that is a good sign. Apparently if you get all three easy test-lets you didn't pass cause the questions are weighted based on difficulty. (This is all of course my own personal theory) If you have all easy questions then it is not possible to obtain a passing score. I think this is why people who think they passed failed and people you think they failed passed. I am really hoping this rings true for me on my re-take. Anyone have experience with this or am I being silly?
AUD 70, 79

FAR ???November 19, 2010 at 4:04 pm #258158Ineedonly75ParticipantShould more or less substantive testing apply when control risk is assessed as low? Under what circumstance, should you apply test of control, test of details etc?
I appreciate your help!

Audit - 11/28November 19, 2010 at 4:11 pm #258159jdiiorioParticipantHi everyone, I am new to the site. I am taking AUD this upcoming Tuesday and I am feeling a little unprepared. How important do you guys think it is to memorize these reports and phrases included in the report?
Any suggestions on what I should focus the most on over the weekend?

AUD - PassedNovember 19, 2010 at 9:27 pm #258160TSMParticipantOh ghosh… I can't believe this is happening. I felt good starting to study AUD (it was quite a relief especially after studying FAR) and thought I could breeze through it. Felt overly confident in the beginning. I'm scheduled to take the exam this Monday (11/22) and am starting to stress out a bit. I read the Becker study materials, did the practice questions (twice), but now that I am looking at it, I am getting everything confused. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out to. I don't have any energy to move on, have so many other things to do, and don't even feel like studying. It feels like my life is on hold. Sometimes, I ask myself: “Is it really worth it”?
Sorry… just wanted to vent to someone!

End of a two-year long CPA exam journey!November 20, 2010 at 2:14 am #2581612003z06ParticipantBeen a rough week for studying. Glad that I got passing grades on BEC and FAR but I have not been able to focus at all since Wed morning. I hope this weekend goes better. Good luck on the studies.

FAR 11/02/10 80

Remeber this for testing:
I C D (I see Dee)
If Ineherent risk and or Control risk are assessed low meaning no good (an auditor has no control over them. they are what they are) than Detection risk NEEDS to be assessed high. High detection risk means you need to have more substantive testing to lower the risk.
You assess internal controls and if they are found to be working good then you can depend on them and do less substantive testing. If they aren't working properly testing them more won't make them better so abandon that and do more substantive testing.
Hope it helps!
REG,BEC,FAR - PASS, AUD 70, retake 4/26/11 85
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
