AUD CPA duties authorized by client

    I was wondering if a CPA can perform duties authorized by the client (for example sending financial info, mailing out checks…)

    Are there any limitations?

    I believe anything that is considered a management function would impair independence. So if the client asked the auditor to do something that management would normally do, it is most likely not okay. I know preparing checks is not permissible. I want to say that mailing checks is also not permissible, but it would probably be good to get another person's opinion.

    Barely is correct. Anything with management oversight is forbidden if doing an attest engagement.
