Just wondering–in reality, what types of topics would probably be heavily tested on AUD? I have the breakdown given by Becker, but from the looks of it the distribution is fairly even. I very highly doubt that this is the reality of the situation.

If this question is illegal to ask, go ahead and disregard it. Just looking for a little guidance. Thanks!

I think it really varies from test to test. Some might test heavier on one area while someone else's might barely touch on it.

I find on CPA exams there will be one topic that is heavily tested with a mixed bag of questions on everything else.

So in reality know everything because as my instructor in Becker said for both BEC and Audit it is a crap shoot.

My test didn't seem heavily reliant on any one section, the questions were very random. However, they were much simpler than the Becker or Wiley questions. Most were straight to the point and less detail oriented than I was used to doing for HW. Each chapter in AUD relates to the one before and after it, so just making it through the textbook will give you a good base for the details you will learn your second time through the material. As Joe36y said, you basically need to know everything.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. AUD is not intimidating me too much, perhaps because I am comparing it to FAR.

The most prevalent weaknesses I have right now are statistical sampling in chapter 5 (when it gets into the details of how to calculate using a bunch of different methods) and the IT stuff in chapter 4. Other than that, I'm not to worried. Actually, I'm not really worried at all since I have two weeks to review and nail this material down!
