    Hi everyone,

I need a bit of advice regarding what I should do for audit. I just finished my graduate degree, and unfortunately, the research project I had to do ran into my study time for AUD. I am currently scheduled to take AUD on Aug 31, and I have barely studied thus far. I went to all the Becker classes, and took notes during the classes but haven’t done any MCQ’s or anything like that. My current opinion is that I should reschedule for Oct 1st or 2nd and plan on taking REG in the new year. Does anyone know the Becker process for getting your materials updated for the 2011 changes? I figured REG will change the least because the tax code is immune to IFRS changes.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

@Please let me pass – I would try and get Audit done this cycle, just in case you have to retake again you can retake in the last quarter. Also Becker is pretty expensive to get updated materials, not sure what their case is on the new changes. I know even if you do everything for Becker promise its at least another $250. I saw someone on their FB page complaining that Becker wouldn't give them a discount even though they failed and they were going to have to pay $600+ for the new stuff for this year. Best bet is to call Becker and talk to them. Also is your NTS long enough to sit for REG in Jan/Feb or will you have to get a new one of those?

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

@michelle119 Wow, you just saved me a ton of pain. I just check my NTS and the last I can take the exam is 12/27, which of course is not possible since you can't take the exam in December. I suppose I will just take it on Tuesday, but I am 95% sure that I am going to fail. The testing window thing really stinks.

Also, are you taking anything else in that window? Could you maybe push Reg out to the end of the window and do both next window…. I'm studying for AUD right now as well… having a different problem than you… just running out of steam I've studied full time now since the end of May when I graduated, I'm tired and can't get through the final review stuff of Beckers even though it seems like all Tim is telling me to do is read this, look at this, then takes an hour to go through a simulation….

    AUD 8/27 - 80

Michelle – The original plan was to take AUD this window and then BEC and REG next window. I really don't see how I could squeeze in 3 exams during that window. I'm doing the live courses with Becker so I don't want REG and AUD to be “outstanding” at the same time, and have all that material in my head at once. I'm just going to take it Tuesday, and if/when I fail I'll retake it during the new year. My only other option is to take REG first, and then AUD after REG instead of BEC. The changes to the exam really make everything so confusing and much more difficult. They should open Dec as an extension to the testing window considering all the changes.

Keep pushing! You'll make it, just think of how good it will feel when you are entirely done!

I would do AUD and BEC first before REG due to the least amount of changes.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86
