Hey everyone, love the site.. I have been following this site for some time now just to see how others are handling certain exam problems. I have just started to study for audit this past week. I have a few questions that i hope some of you could help me answer. 1) im not taking audit until jan 3rd, would you consider that to lengthy of a time. i gave myself 8 weeks to study and i took into account the fact of holidays and that I am working full time. I believe you cant have too much studying especially if I can go through all the material by the first week of Dec and then hit a real hard review session for a solid 2-3 weeks.2) I am using becker and it seems ok. I have finished all of A1 and scored and avg of around 65% on my first time through the mcq.. is that normal for just the 1ST TIME. I mean I plan on doing alot more as the test gets closer. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. and good luck to everyone still trucking through this exam..

@D21, I think 8 weeks is just right. Anything longer will be overkill. I studied for 6 weeks for AUD, and that worked for me. I think anywhere between 6-8 weeks is adequate. As for your first attempt, 65% is not bad at all. I think I scored 63% on my first quiz and that was mainly because I was adapting to the language/set up used by the AICPA. No worries, before you know it you'll be scoring 80+!

You're off to a good start!

Don't worry about not scoring well your first time through the multiple choice questions. As long as you have the basic concepts down you should be fine. Audit builds on itself through each chapter so as you get through the book your understanding of the material will increase. Really focus on the mnemonics becker gives you! I did each chapter, A1-A5 and then went back through each and reviewed it. The second time around things should make a lot more sense, and the topics tested in the mcq should be more easily recognized. Don't worry, you have more than enough time!

I wouldn't be concerned about your score on the initial reviews at all. As long as you're listening to the material and feel like you have a feel for what they are talking about is what matters.

When you finish A1-5, just make sure you do the quizzes as a way to review the material. They are tremendously helpful.

thanks everyone for the helpful tips. Should I be doing the homework after each lecture in the chapter or for example are people watching all the lectures then going back throught the 75 er so page. chapter and then going back and doing all the homework questions after that? For A1 I watched all lectures then went back and read throught the chapter and then tried the hw questions. I feel like if i did the hw questions after each lecture it might be more beneficial since its all over material i was just studying. any thoughts?

@D21, I usually listen to all lectures, then reread the materials, then attempt quizzes and review topics I got wrong. After that, I move on to the Gleim test bank and use the progress report to point me to my weak areas and I review these. That's what works for me anyway.

@KasiaS is the Gleim test bank in Becker or is this something seperate?

The Gleim test bank is software that I purchased separately to supplement my review course. I'm not sure I think Becker has a test bank as well – I may be wrong since I'm not at all familiar with Becker
