Hello everyone! I know there has been a couple past forums about this already, but I’m still a little confused on which standards to use. I’m taking AUD in a few months and I’m not sure whether to be using AU or AU-C. In AU-C footnotes it states:

“The AU-C identifier will revert to AU in 2014, by which time substantially all engagements for which the “AU” sections were still effective are expected to be completed”

So does this mean for the 2014 exam, it goes back to using the AU standards? Or should I still be studying AU-C standards?

    Thanks!

    AUD: 91.
    BEC: 69, 81
    REG: 83 (expired), 79
    FAR: 59, 77

    I'M FINALLY DONE!!!!!

The new standards are to be used, at least in everything I've seen and heard. I'd guess what the footnote means is that in their materials, they'll start referring to the new ones as simply “AU” since they'll be the only auditing standards so no need to specify “AU-C” (C=Clarified if I remember right), since it's the only “AU” out there now. However, it's still going to be based off of the new standards.
