I’m confused about internal control in Becker’s program. They talk about internal control in A3 ( on A3-45 to be exact) and on page A5-22. Why are there two sections for internal control? What is the difference here? There’s so much information that it’s hard for me to get a bigger picture. Both these sections talk about internal control, but what is the difference?

I think chapter 3 is an overview of internal control, what it is, how it affects your detection risk, etc. Chapter 5 deals with when & how to report deficiencies in internal control and gets into reports of auditing effectiveness of internal control itself (required for issuers).
