I’m studying audit using Ninja MCQ now and my average score is a 66% and my trending is 68%.

There’s times when I get my score back and just think “How the hell did I get that wrong”? My average time answering a question is 56 seconds though (Obviously some of the easy questions will be super quick. I know the obvious answer is slow down, but when I took FAR and BEC, I fell behind and had to rush towards the end (Maybe because the CPA Exam throws in some pretty long questions?)

Does anyone have advice or a similar experience to what i’m going through? I sit in mid May. I just feel like my scores are way too far from where they should be right now.

I have found that if I scored lower than I wanted to that was an indication that I had to go back to the book or lecture or notes, and re-read them and get the concept down. That's the only way to bring up those scores and feel better about where you are with the material. So no, you aren't setting yourself up for failure-just hit those books in the time that you have! good luck.

You already know the answer to this question. This exam is more about the battle waging in your mind. Everyone I've talked to who have given up on the exam has either convinced themselves they cannot pass or do not want to pass, or put themselves in an unrealistic position guaranteed to fail.

Your average is a 66%. Is that enough to pass the exam? You are probably tired and sick of studying. I agree with anyatver. If I consistently make low scores, something is wrong and there's something I'm missing. (Or I'm studying when I'm too tired to actually successfully do the mcq's.) Refresh, regroup, and get that score up!

I felt pretty discouraged the first couple of times I went through Ninja MCQ. My percentages were terrible. The questions can be tough, but what is important is to keep going. It's all about consistency and repetition. After a while it just clicked. I felt that Ninja MCQ questions were tougher then what I actually saw on the exam. So, keep going!

@cpaMD86 Thanks. I think i'm just going to continue hitting the MCQs for now. Even though reading the book could be beneficial, I don't think it would efficient. Because I had problems with time during my FAR and BEC exam, I find myself going through the Audit Ninja MCQs fairly quickly (Average under a minute per question). Sometimes when I read explanations to wrong answers I find myself thinking “I knew that/could have known that, I just need to slow it down a little and read carefully next time”. I guess i'm just rushing through the problems because of my previous two exams.

@jsn3004 are you doing mcq's only? It might not hurt to use the book if there are areas that are too weak. The test is going to be random so make sure you're not memorizing. Keep pressing, you got this.
