So here’s the situation: I just started studying for AUD and it is seeming pretty easy so far. I decided to take one of the Becker finals just out of curiosity and got a 70* on the first testlet. I know that’s not a stellar grade but upon review, it seemed like the questions that I did miss were just sort of silly oversights on my part. I had a really good audit professor in the final semester of my undergrad and I feel like the material is still with me pretty well. I am currently scheduled to take AUD on July 3rd but there is an opening in two days. Am I crazy to go ahead and move it up, study a couple concepts that seem unclear over the next two days, and go for it? Has anyone else tried AUD with primarily just the knowledge gained in school? I truly appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Note: *This is the same score that I got on the final exams for FAR after studying for 5 months.

I just took an additional testlet (testlet #1 for final exam #2) and got absolutely slaughtered. I think I will just stick with my previously scheduled July date. Thanks to everyone for your input.

I found that happening when I was rushing and not reading the questions carefully enough.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I think Audit is the only exam where if it clicks, you can get a 99%. I have not started studying for it, but I have seen many individuals either failing it miserably several times, or getting a 90 to 99 on their first attempt. If you got a 70 without much review, I think you are one of the few ones that really get it. Dont forget that Becker's final is harder than the real exam, and you usually score 10 more points on the real deal.

Gian: That was exactly my thought process which is why I was actually considering taking it without “studying.” However, a 10 point boost to my most recent Becker attempt would still leave me out of luck. I think there are more questions that revolve around specific phrases to memorize than I previously assumed. ie I know which assertion we are testing for and perhaps even the best way to get at it, but I do not know whether the guidance came from a SSAE or a SAS etc.
