I read through the IT supplement material for Audit once and was considering not wasting more efforts on trying to master that area. Would I be at risk of failing the exam? Is IT really important? I rather spend my time mastering other areas; internal control, reporting and sampling. What do you think?

I think Murphy's Law will bite you in the butt. Although I have not taken AUD (my test is scheduled for Wednesday the 18th) I'm not going to leave anything to chance. I did that with FAR and the portions on IFRS and Gov't and it wasn't pretty. Lesson learned. They're in the study materials for a reason.

    FAR: 74, 83
    REG: 76
    BEC: 77
    AUD: 89

On another note, you're going to need the IT portion anyways for BEC. So you might as well prepare for the IT topics you will see in AUD and it will be a good basis for what you will see in BEC.

    FAR: 74, 83
    REG: 76
    BEC: 77
    AUD: 89

LKD, thanks for your response. The IT material is not as extensive as the IFRS and Govt in FAR since, like you said, the IT is more heavily tested in BEC. I just think that there are other areas in AUD worth mastering than IT. Still I'll try to put a little more effort for IT then.
