    1) I hear a lot about people relying on the AL for AUD Sims. Can anyone shed light on that? What do you really find there? Everything?

    2) I plan to take an entire day and go through all the Becker and AICPA Sims. I'm not working them from scratch, just looking at the answers to see if they make sense and if I'd be able to do them on my own. Do you guys think a day is enough time? Studying the sims for FAR did absolutely nothing for me on exam day.

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

    Ethics: TBD

I was able to score “Stronger” on the SIMS section off of a no-study (expiring NTS) and I attribute this entirely to the AL. The time restriction is wayyyy less of an issue than for FAR and REG, meaning you can really utilize the AL. I knew the answers to maybe 10% of them at most, but was able to figure out a lot of the answers just going through it. It's very helpful, know how to use it! Good luck!

Hi @co10101 – Do you have any advice for knowing how to use the AL?? My weakest part of AUD were the SIMS – my multiple choice scores seemed to be okay (according to that chart that they send you). I'm just worried the SIMS are going to do me in again.

Personally I didn't score well on Sims but I didn't use the AL except on research questions! Honestly I didn't even think about using the AL on the other sims… I could kick my ass for not doing that. But, you'll see plenty of different topics. I got one sim that was very FAR-like (didn't seem to have anything to do with AUD at all). Know each audit report's wording by heart. And, know the effects of various events on different aspects of the audit risk model!

There are some sims that you'll find can't be answered just by looking at the AL, i.e., a sim where you have to fill in an excel document with calculations for depreciation (just an example from Wiley Test Bank). Some things you just need to know.

    Best wishes, you got this!

    DELAWARE

AUD: 74 (7/2014) 76 (11/2014) PASSED! USED YAEGER AND NINJA
BEC: 73 (9/2014) 76 (2/2014) SO FAR SO GOOD! USED NINJA AND WILEY
FAR: Will take after tax season (can't wait)
REG: Cue overly dramatic impending-doom music (will take in 2014)
