Advice on AUD Time Allocation Strategy

Hey guys! I’m looking for feedback on my AUD time allocation strategy. For the past three exams, I’ve allowed at least 15 minutes per sim, so for AUD, I’m looking at 2 hours 15 minutes for the MCQs (or 45 minutes per MCQ testlet) and then 15 minutes per sim. In your experience, is this enough time for the sims? From what I’ve heard, AUD relies pretty heavily on the AL, so maybe I need a little more time?

The first MCQ testlet usually takes me 10-15 minutes, so that gives me some extra time right there. Since there really aren’t any calculations, I’m thinking I can also probably shave off some more time there. Although I am anal about going back a second time and checking each of my answers before moving on to the next sim.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!!!

I'm not sure how people really need to allocate time? I finished my entire exam in 2 hours. Based on your scores, I'd say you're fine.

However, you”re in the running for a EWS award if you score comparably

    FAR - 84
    AUD - 94
    REG - 86
    BEC - 86

For what it's worth – AUD seems to be the exam people breeze through time-wise.

I spent 25-35 minutes on each MCQ testlet (this involves checking each problem at least TWICE because that is how I feel most comfortable testing). I arrived at the SIMS with 2.5 hours left. I was able to triple/quadruple check my SIM answers with the AL. I ended the exam 45 minutes early – maybe I got easy sims? I don't know. I found one that was almost word for word, but 2 others I was able to find general guidance on how to answer.

I did the same timing as Birds CPA because I like to double check all of my answers. The authoritative literature SIMS on my two audit exams were vague. so it may take a little longer to do the research. Previously, I was able to find the answers in the authoritative literature word for word, so this threw me off.

Also, some of my SIMS had tons of fill in the blank questions so that can take a while.
