I have failed audit 7 times since 2009 (70,65,56,74,74,68,69). I have used Wiley, CPA Ninja, CPA excel and Becker. I am consistently comparable or stronger in my multiple choice questions. My downfall is simulations. As a tax guy, I know nothing about audit procedures besides what I see in these books. When I use auditors for advice, they tell me how things really go in the field and not the textbook version.

Please for the love of God can someone please give me some advice on what program to use so I can finally pass Audit. I feel that I have probably memorized all of the simulations on the practice tests I’ve taken over the past 4+ years. It always seems that the simulations on the real test is nothing like I’ve ever seen or studied either.

My only saving grace is that I have until February 2013 before I start losing parts (FAR & REG) again. I have passed BEC & REG twice and FAR once.

Started the journey in January 2009...
    AUDIT - 70, 65, 56, 74, 74, 69, 68, 90. DONE!!!!
    BEC - 73, 80, 81 DONE!!!!
    FIN - 69, 73, 77 DONE!!!!
    REG - 73, 85, 80 DONE!!!!

I'm a tax guy and I felt audit was the most passable. AUD was my first exam so I was obsessed with the material. I used Becker and was pleasantly surprised with the MCQ as I recognized questions (verbatim) from practicing my Becker MCQs.

I would really just go over MCQs over and over and make a note every time you see something that might help you. On questions I got right, I would write down why the others were wrong. On questions I got wrong, I would write down my incorrect assumption and then write down what my thought pattern should have been. I had legal pads full of my MCQ activity. That practice helped me cakewalk the simulations.

My general advice would be to take the examination using the “professional skepticism” cap on.

Whatever you do, don't practice simulations that come with Becker; they won't be like what you see, but the MCQs will definitely be built into the simulation structure.

Also, be obsessed with AUD. Then you will pass.

    Good luck and regards,

    Fellow tax guy

Get a teaching course like yaeger or roger. A review course works only after you understand the material, notnjust memorizing. Alot of us are neither tax or audit guys and manage to pass. Stop thinking you need to have audit experience to pass this Part. I Have zero and passed. Good luck

    I'm opposite; I can't pass REG, b/c I'm an auditor.

I'm pretty sure I didn't pass REG again, rematch in January I guess.

    FAR 69, 74, 78
    REG 69, 69, 69, 82
    BEC 75
    AUD 76
