Adjusting from FAR studying to AUD

My first study/testing experience was FAR last quarter, and now I am in the middle of my review for AUD (10-19-12) and I feel like I am not studying near as much as I did for FAR. For FAR the last two weeks I was putting in over 25hrs each week, but for this AUD review my plan is 90 MCQs, read 35-40pgs of NINJA notes, and rewrite each standard report. This only takes around 3 hrs to complete, and I have been stopping there feeling accomplished, but I am afraid I’m fooling myself into a false confidence. Should I be doing more? I am scoring 75-85% on the MCQs and I should also mention I have been an auditor for 3.5yrs, but I feel really lazy compared to my work for FAR. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to make some changes?

    FAR - 81 (8/31/12)
    AUD - 93 (10/19/12)
    BEC - 79 (11/27/12)
    REG - 92 (2/8/13) DONE! All 1st attempt!

I studied much harder for FAR than AUD and I believe my scores reflect this. I think it's easy to slack on AUD because it's less calculations, less breadth of topics, and more logical. I don't think you need to study as much for AUD as FAR but I do think it's easy to slack on AUD and BEC and get fooled by overconfidence.

NIU CPA Review Correspondence is awesome!

I passed all four sections on the first attempt

AUD is a lot easier to study for (at least for me, and in my opinion). I studied a week and a half non-stop, took the exam, and scored pretty well. It was my first exam and I had no idea what to expect, so I didn't do anything special either, just did the sections hw once after watching the lecture, then re-did them once more to review.

I guess since it is less difficult than FAR its easy to brush it off, but they are completely different studying experiences in my opinion, so if you're scoring well on the homework, you should be just fine! 🙂

    AUD: 88 (5/24/2012)
    REG: 88 (7/7/2012)
    BEC: 80 (8/29/2012)
FAR: Fail (didn't study), Fail (sick), PRAYING! (11/14/2013)

Why are you re-writing the reports?? You dont have to know them by heart. There are no more essays on this section, you know that right? Just BEC has the essays

    REG - 80 (4/19/12)
    BEC - 81 (5/31/12)
    FAR - 89 (8/27/12)
    AUD - 87 (11/12/12)

@okcpa1987 Well, I have only done that a couple of times. I did it to just ingrain the wording in my head, and because Gary from Yaeger says if you memorize those reports that you will be able to correctly answer several different MCQs.

    FAR - 81 (8/31/12)
    AUD - 93 (10/19/12)
    BEC - 79 (11/27/12)
    REG - 92 (2/8/13) DONE! All 1st attempt!
