    That was quite disappointing, I received a 74 for the first section that I took (AUD). I haven’t started studying for another section yet because Becker hasn’t sent me my materials yet, but I will have finals at the end of this semester in mid-December. What should I do now? Do I get another NTS, do I wait here and be pretty? What should I do to make the best use of my time and effort?

    Sorry about your score, I know how you feel.

    my opinion since you know your aud results and have no other material, are to study again for AUD. Study like you never even took it before don't rest on the laurels of that 74. I studied harder after my 71 than I did before it (thank goodness)

    You can study AUD during your finals too. I was always studying both the CPA and schoolwork at the same time.

    Thanks mia (I find you very inspiring, btw!). Should I start now and take the test in early January? Hope for the best and just do BEC (which I hear gives people less of a hassle than FAR – the one that I was planning on taking in January)?

    @Zaiitz3

    totally understand how you feel now. i took audit first as well and got a 74 as well. i allowed myself to get down for 1 days. i found out my score at noon and cried until 3pm. kept throwing things too like i was crazy, really, i thought i went crazy for a moment, luckily my parents were out to work and i was alone by myself, otherwise i might have scared them by throwing pillows and books and tapes, basically everything not fragile.

    anyways, because i want to be a cpa so bad, this motivation gets me back to audit. since you don't have to other materials yet, i would suggest you study audit again. I saw that you have scheduled 1/12 for FAR, maybe taking AUD and FAR together? I know this is quite tough, but since audit is still fresh in your head i would suggest you do that.

    and study the second time like your first time, many people have told me that. don't give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    Haha, @atelery, you sound like me and how I deal with stress 🙂

    And thanks. I actually know what I did wrong with my studies, I completely let the first few sections of Becker slip my mind as I was trying to understand Transaction cycles. And I've heard horrible things about FAR that I'm almost intimidated by it… Would it really be wise to take it in the same window? Would I study for them at the same time or do I take AUD and then start immediately with FAR?

    I guess the second time is just going to have to be better! Thanks again 🙂

    I found out I failed AUD on 9/16 and scheduled round 3 for 10/19. I decided to put total faith in Jeff's ninja notes and even his wacky ideas about rewriting notes LOL. I made the guinness book of world records (not really but it felt that way!) for # of multiple choice questions answered. And I listened to that crazy Anita Feller (wiley audiobook) nearly 24/7. Anita & I were an item so to speak 😉

    Remember a lot of AUD and FAR overlap, so studying for one is partially like studying for the other, will suit you well.

    @Zaiitz3,

    I suggest you study them at the same time, assuming you take AUD again 1/1, if you start study FAR on 1/2 it would be impossible unless you are good at the financial area. If I were you, I would spend the thanksgiving studying audit and christmas studying for far. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    @mla and Jeff,

    OMG, im re-writing Jeff's 95 pages of audit PDF, my hands are getting tired 🙂 but I feel like im absorbing the materials 😀

    I have the ninja notes for AUD, I'll get them for FAR, and I guess I'm starting tomorrow 🙂 (Getting my NTS today for both FAR and AUD, and getting over the 1 point that I needed). Thanks guys! I appreciate it! If you were me, would you go through all the lectures again or just start rewriting the notes and doing an insane amount of MCQ's?

    Zaiitz3, Sorry about the 74. I know how you feel!!! You will definitely conquer AUD & knock out FAR as well. I would say start with MCQs and rewriting the notes. Good Luck!!

    @Zaiitz3: I wouldn't recommend studying two sections together. It's just too much. Your plan shows you are taking AUD, FAR, and BEC in the next window. Why not take AUD early Jan, FAR, early Feb, and BEC at the end of Feb? There is no reason to double up and take more risks. Since you didn't pass the first one, don't make it more difficult the next time around. It makes no sense to take BEC in the middle of Feb. The best strategy advice for the cpa exam, divide and conquer!

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)

    @See Pee A, I forgot to change that plan around. I'm thinking BEC and REG will be in April and May now. AUD first, FAR after, though I'm thinking that I should review some of the relevant sections of FAR for AUD…

    @MyLifeisCPA, thank you! Wishing you the best for REG!!!
