I have a week before I sit for my first exam (AUD). I’ve been through the reading, lectures, review, mcq, etc. I still need to take the sample test & sample from the AICPA released questions but that should only take a day or so.

In your experience, what is the best way to spend the last week preparing for the exam?

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

I did Wiley CD MCQ in 20-25 question mini-tests by category (ie, I selected the questions instead of using the default set of questions). This showed me the areas I was weak in and I went back and studied those areas. I found that extremely helpful.

    FAR - 11/10 - 84
    REG - 2/11 - 89
    BEC - 5/11 - 80
    AUD - 5/11 - 83

I agree with Taxi Cow's suggestion for doing mini-quizzes by a category on a test bank to help identify your weak areas that need more work. You can also go through the CSO to make sure you've addressed all the potential topics on the exam. Finally, if you haven't already done so, memorize the unqualified opinion and the differences between it and the other types of opinions.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I too take Audit in a week and am trying hard to finish up my studying…I am a way behind, so I am focusing on the main things Becker emphasized in the lectures and hoping for the best…

I am not sure how to prepare for the SIMS though…a lot of people have mentioned J/E, but Becker didn't really touch on that, so where else is a good resource for those types of SIMS?

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

I am too taking Audit in a week. Needless to say I'm scared!! I have a habit that formed recently with taking this exam. When I sit and do MCQs and if I don't get them right, I panic!! It happened again this morning. I think that's my problem when I sit for the exam as well. When I get a question I'm not sure of I panic. Any suggestions??

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

Thanks for the study advice. I will work more MCQ and Sims.

@IwannaBaCPA: I believe the JE sims will be along the lines of correcting entries. If you've passed FAR, you should have a good understanding of how accounts are affected by various transactions. Thanks, kb24 for the link, that helps.

@jomarie: I can kind of relate to what you're going through. I'm beginning to feel the pressure. The last 2 days it seems the things I thought I knew, I can't recall. Now I'm in a panic. Maybe i'm just in AUD overload. I do find repetiveness with the mcq helps.

This is what I do for the last 7 days before the exam. Do MCQ in the morning(10-20 questions), read notes during lunch(20-30mins), more MCQs during afternoon (30-60 questions) and finish the night with more notes. GL!

    AUD - 83 Feb11
    REG - 75 May11
    BEC - 73 July11 84 Oct11
    FAR - 63 Aug11 76 Feb12 I'M DONE!!!!!

I think it depends on the person. I didn't studying all the way up until the test. I felt like that actually leads to burning out on test day. I did MCQ all the way up until about 3 days before the test. I'd go over notes the day before but only for half a day. I felt good on test day and didn't feel tired or burnt out how I would when I did a whole bunch of MCQ. Worked for me

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89
