60 in AUD :(

I did not feel good coming out of my exam, but I did not think it would be this bad. For FAR, I studied by doing 90% of the Becker MCQs, progress test, couple hundred Wiley MCQs and got a 54. For AUD I completed all 1500 MCQs twice, did about 500 Wiley MCQs, progress test, made notes, and flashcards and only got a 60. I really wish I passed this exam before the changes came out.

I just graduated from college and all of my other friends are passing except me. My motivation is seeing others on this thread who had low scores at first but still made it through.

I am considering getting the Ninja Notes/Audio, but they’re kinda expensive and I am afraid I might not like them.

    F: 54 (4/13) 60 (4/14) 67 (9/14) 66 (10/14) 63 (11/15) 79 (2/16) PASSED
    A: 60 (5/13) 80 (4/16) PASSED
    R: 60 (7/13) 61 (2/15) 70 (4/15) 77 (7/15) PASSED
    B: (6/16)

Whenever people are surprised at how poorly they've done, I have to believe that “keeping pace” took precedence over reading the question thoroughly during the exam. We're all guilty of it, some more than others. When you do practice questions enough, you can read the skeleton of the question and your brain, consciously or subconsciously, goes “ahhh there's a catch in this one”. You don't have the luxury with new questions, so you have to be extra vigilant.

The ninja notes are most definately worth every single penny. Wish I got them for my first (or second) go at AUD. much cheaper than a retake!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

@CPApracticer, I understand how you feel because we both failed in our first attempt. I still haven't received my score yet for AUD coming from a Non-NASBA State. But If I would fail in my second part, my plan B would be to set aside my plan to start preparing for REG until I pass the two parts (AUD & FAR)I have already worked on.

I am working on my master's degree with Devry so I have to sign up for my next class each quarter semester or so. My adviser has been following up with me since March to have me signed up for the next class. Hopefully, I will know tomorrow morning the result of my AUD test. From there I will be able to decide to keep up my plan to start my prep. class for REG in July 22.

I noticed from your signature that you already scheduled your REG test on 7/15.

If I were you, I would work on AUD first while everything you studied last May is still fresh.

But the thing is, YOU ARE NOT ME:(

amordiva: i signed up for becker online and I was required by my company to schedule the classes for all 4 parts at once. once my audit class was over, my reg class commenced. i might see if i can push my bec class to the future and retake a section though. good luck, i hope you passed audit

I just saw my score and I was shocked. This is the lowest I have ever done on a test. I didn't think the MCQS were hard bit fair. It had to be the simulations that I had to do horrible on. I'm still in shocked an can't sleep over getting a 60 on AUD. This was my first exam and I feel horrible

The authoratative literature REALLY helps for the simulations in audit. When I first got to the sims, I flipped through all of them and there wasn't a single one where I knew what the answer was. But by using the AL, I am pretty sure I got nearly all of them correct. I ended up getting a 97 on the exam anyway.

    Audit: 97
    BEC: 92
    REG: 89
    FAR: (8/30/2013)

I'm basically in the same boat as well. I failed BEC 2 months ago, but I had some circumstances leading up to that one that helped me be not prepared and I didn't feel confident walking out of that room after that one. But after AUD I felt confident and I felt like I knew the information I was being tested on in the exam. But after getting my score last night, apparently I didn't know. I'm thinking I really need to revamp my study schedule and put in even more hours now. Even though the information is semi fresh in my mind, I'm starting over with my studying completely, redoing my notes, just starting from scratch. My plan is to use the University library 5-6 days a week and get out of my house while studying. I did all my previous studying at home and it wasn't the greatest environment for studying in.

My two cents is that quality is better than quantity. You have to really understand why, where, when to take a certain approach. Too many one off situations to really memorize things.

Know the BS like the back of your hand. Understand why assets=liabilities+equities. I mean it should be intuitive.

Kind of contradictory but focus on certain areas where there are hard numbers and limits. There are some things you just have to know. Look at the percentage of possible questions on the exam guide. If it's a big number and there are some hard numbers you have to memorize, chug through it.

Also, don't spread yourself too thin. Concentrate on one, try and take it towards the end of a cycle. Then move on to the next one. Alternate between the two. I personally think that FAR/REG and AUD/BEC are the most complementary to each other and you should try and attempt to pass them in pairs. I recommend FAR and REG first or you might get stuck on them after passing AUD and BEC and lose the credit.

Also, don't spend too much time being hung up on a single question because you will pay for it with blood during the simulations. It's hard but guess and go sometimes. I did it because even though I knew I could solve the problem, it seemed too labor intensive so I made an educated guess and moved on.

Exactly how I feel.. Did so much studying but wasn't enough. I was so concerned with keeping on track with my studying that I think I skipped a bunch of small details here and there. Has something to do with my NTS expiring and wanting so bad to be done before the July changes. I am also considering getting the ninja notes/audio for my retake. I liked them for the other sections because they would simplify hard topics.

    BEC 82 Nov 2012 | REG 80 Feb 2013 | FAR 76!!! Apr 2013 | AUD 69 May 2013 | AUD 83!!! Aug 2013

Done!! Thanks Jeff & A71 friends!

MetsWONin86: i was only able to use the AL on one of the SIMs. I found it word for word. However, i don't think the AL were applicable on my other SIMs. I have heard some people being able to find all their sims in the AL, but i have not had the luck of getting those sims on my test

    F: 54 (4/13) 60 (4/14) 67 (9/14) 66 (10/14) 63 (11/15) 79 (2/16) PASSED
    A: 60 (5/13) 80 (4/16) PASSED
    R: 60 (7/13) 61 (2/15) 70 (4/15) 77 (7/15) PASSED
    B: (6/16)

Because it was my first exam, I realize that using AL was helpful for not just a research simulations. I did use for the test but the time was not on my side as I was scrambling at the end of the MCQ to move on to the next testlet. Next go around I will do better with my time and make sure I'm reading the questions thoroughly. I hated the fact that we didn't get scratch paper but a white board. That's really threw me off
